Mr. Cena's 800 gallon Reef Tank

I am not sure even they know what all is going in just yet. A bunch of ideas are flowing around about the stock but nothing is ever final. However Mystic does read this thread so feel free to give some suggestions on stock and they just might go with it.

I like the look, what are your stocking plans? I'm sure I've missed it elsewhere tho.

Mystic Marine Life is taking care of the maintenance and the setup. I think John has a housekeeper type person who can help out so there is always someone home if needed.

Outstanding job on the aquascaping and the entire setup, I take It you guys are going to be the primary service guys aswell for maintance and tank needs. Hey who's going to feed the fish on Monday night??? lol.

Sorry Big G, I hate to leave you hangin, but it seems that the only time work on the tank can be done is when John is home. So when John and Ray are at the house, things are rocking my man! And when John, Ray and I are all there then the updates flow like wine. But it takes all three of us to get updates so the stars must a line before the tread happens. On the bright side John doesn't have to wait on me to get work done on his tank lol!!!

John wants to make things happen this week so I will pop back in tomorrow and take more pictures of the ballast and the closet being wired up for lights.

C'mon man dont leave us hangin like this! some new pics would be nice. any updates?

I think this tank is all about being unique. A tank that can stand out in a sea of boring and plain old humdrum. Anyone can stack rock and make caves which I am sure you have done. We all have, but to create something different that people will remember and love is truly what has inspired Mystic to do. Does the pile of rock in your tank look just like a real reef? Mine doesn't. No ones does. I think once you see if full of life you might change your tune and come on over to my side of the fence.

not my kind of aquascaping due to the fact the bridge makes it look fake. but its a good job on the stacking

It looks so much better in person. My camera is not all that, neither is my skill, but I'm trying. As for the rock They have access to so much of it I do not think anyone counted. If I was to guess I would say around 300 maybe? I think Ray would be a better guess since he picked up every piece.

Cool aquascaping. How many pounds of rock is that? [/QUOTE]

I asked Ray and man I was way off. It is closer to 500 lbs. of rock.

I like the look of it myself.. Besides once corals grow in it will look great. In most tanks you can't even see most of the rock just the outline of them.
Are they going to light that tank with just 2 400watters?

I couldn't agree more. I think it looks fantastic... based on what I'm picturing it could look like once corals grow in. The straight bridge is perfect for placing corals that grow in different manners; Thus breaking up the "straight" bridge extending the gap. The gaps that eggcrate is showing through is a perfect mount for coral.

This is the kind of tank you can toss a Lemnalia sp. (or similar) in and just let it cover one side of the bottom. I might even go as far as placing a bit of GSP towards the bottom and letting it loose!

Keep up the great work and thanks for the pics!

I agree it will look awesome once some large corals grow in and break up that bridge. I think whats bothering to some is just how symmetrical the aquascape is.... the bridge itself is very cool, but its just very symmetrical and spells a big letter H.

but like stunreefer said, corals will break up the shape and give an interesting look.

as long as some large corals are placed decidedly off-center.

Very nice John, it's nice to see the stars getting into the hobby.

Big props to all involved with this build now get that dam thing filled up with some corals and fish.:bum:
