Mutant RBTA's?

So a while back I picked up a RBTA from a local shop. He had gotten a ton of them and was selling them at a good price. It appeared to me that they were all clones.

I picked one out and took it home. Day 2 it splits and I have 2 healthy RBTA's. A month or 2 later it split again and now I have 3. Needless to say my tank raised false percs took to it after a short time and now they host all 3.

On to my actual question. Looking at these, they are not your typical "bubbletip" nem. The ends bubble, but dont "bubbletip" I guess would be the word.

Is this just a mutant clone rbta or are they actually some other breed?

Josh, there have been a TON of posts about bubbletips on BTA's. It is probably the single most talked about subject on this forum. Bottom line, no one knows. If you want to read more about the subject, I'd recommend the search function (or read the FAQ) and you will find more information than you can read in a day :)

Im pretty sure you did get what he was saying.

Look at that picture again those do not loook like bubble tips they look like mangled tips.

its a bubbletip and i have no clue why those tentacles are soo wierd.

mine does the same thing. it had some fat tentacles and some skinny ones. some have bumps all over it and some tentacles are coming out of others.
for the 8 months ive had it, its slowly gotten better but i still dont know why it does this

All three seem very healthy, eat pretty much anything I give them, including my shrimp molts. Just curious if these are actually something different.

Thanks for the input.

In my view, this is an anemone that has been through stresses. In a way, it is in a "mutated" state due to effects of the past poor environment. However, it looks healthy seems to be on its way to a full recovery. I love the deep red color; it has that rich blue under tone as well. When a proper environment is provided, the tentacles should return to its normal state of long or bubble tips.
Just my personal experiences:)

They actually look the best under the antics. I was wondering about the stress level on them, but I dont really think there aer any issues now causing it. I keep thinking it is trying to split again, but it could just be healing.

Either way, the clowns love them and chase me away anytime im near. As long as no one sees anything wrong with them, im happy.
