There are 5. Just added a fairy wrasse. Next will be a pair of clowns. Flip flopping on a yellow or purple tang. Don't know if there will be any other additions.

It might be tight, but I think your tank is big enough for both. If you only want one for now, and you can get a purple tang, get the purple tang first. I don't think Purple tangs are always available. You can always get a yellow tang.

Purple tangs are all over the place at a couple live fish stores. I'm not sure I want to risk putting a yellow and a purple together. Although it's a large cube it's only 36" x 36"

The Tang population in my tank which is 300 gallons is 3 yellows, 1 purple, 1 chevron, 1 naso. They seem to get along for the most part. If one is having a bad day sometimes they slap each other. But all in all they get along. Good luck with the tank it looks good.

Thank you. I'm guessing your 300g is 8ft long? I'm concerned the 36" doesn't give them distance to flee or keep out of the danger zone.

It's time for nutrient export. Looking for some healthy chaeto and all the life it houses. Anyone have some locally they can part with?

I've got some chaeto, and some gracilaria that I collected locally if you want that too. Let me know.

Every fish is it's own personality, no two are alike.
Chromis are famous for dwindling down to 1.
See George for your clowns.
As far as a tang goes, Purples can be bossy if they get there first.

Ideally I would like both. My ex-brother-in-law had a pair that beat the crap out of each other. I want a peaceful tank. The thought of tearing up the tank to fish one out doesn't sit well with me. However, the thought of having both is very appealing.
