My 168g Cube Build!

It's been great following your thread. I brought my same cube home a couple days ago. It's filling with water now. Trying to figure out my aqua scape.

So slow..

Update: so I've had no protein skimmer for the last few weeks because the red dragon pump wasn't working properly. Being very anal about my equipment I always removed the pump and cleaned every single piece. What I didn't know was that the magnet wasn't suppose to be removed from the impeller! After purchasing a new motor block from Scott at royal exclsiv I was having the same problem. I took pictures of every part and offered to send him pics of how meticulous I was. I mentioned that perhaps the magnet was faulty and if I could just buy a new magnet. He picked up on it and asked me why was the magnet separated from the impeller? Needless to say I epoxied the magnet back on and everything's back to normal.

I'm taking it slow when it comes to stocking up on corals. The frags I bought from you are been doing great. Thanks Jay!

Not a happy camper this am. My lights turn on at 9 am. I was in my den, where the tank is, and just before the lights turn on I notice the water level is between 1/8 to 1/4 below my canopy line. My skimmer filled to nearly the top and the skimmate wasn't coffee like it normally is. I'm baffled. The return pump was barely audible. Everything looked normal except for the water line. 5 minutes later the lights turn on. Still trying to find something abnormal. Nothing. Then I see what happened. Apparently a snail made its way in the overflow box. It wedged between the outer box and the inner box and split the seam so the water was entering from the split as much as the overflow teeth. Initial panic set it. How do I repairs the box without emptying the tank and bonding seam? Luckily the seam only split about a foot and the rockwork stopped it from splitting further. I cut a piece of acrylic and ran Weldon around the edges and put it over the overflow box. It's about 2" wide so it serves a little bit as a small barrier as well. I hope this works!

Sorry to hear about the overflow.
I also have a CadLight tank, luckily the bare acrylic is just the height of the teeth section and that there is still a glass box enclosure below that!

TBH I'm not thrilled with the build quality. The tank seams look fine but the overflow box doesn't look like machine precision. No one would know but me. But I know...

I hear ya, probably would not buy another CadLight tank either.
They shipped my tank after a 6 week delay while telling me every week that it'll be shipped. When I got the tank, I told them the tank was 2nd rate in terms of quality control and finish and they never responded to me.
Notice how the 1st photo shows either an unfinished or bad polishing of a glass pane edge, 2nd photo is of the overflow holes, total poor workmanship.
