it is doing well. it has gone to its new home since i have sold my entire setup.
What?!?! You sold the entire set up??? Why???

yep. need a break to spend more time with the family. i donated all of the tangs to seaworld and the eel and some of the large corals to the aquarium at the sa zoo. the rest was sold to local reefers. i will still have my classroom and will be trying something different there this year if things work out the way i hope.

ok. final update of this thread.

tangs have been taken to seaworld sa. they will be in qt in a 500 gallon tank for about a month and then will move to the large tank with all the tangs.

6/17/09 here they are in the buckets - ready to go and hating me (im sure they are thanking me now or will be soon)

icky the eel and six of the large lps corals have gone to the zoo - looking forward to visiting them after they finish qt

here is the area where the tank used to be. we decided to leave the solar tubes as sky lights and take out the entire wall where the tank used to sit. still have a little painting to do, but you get the idea

I can't believe this.................one day you have this awesome tank and the next day its torn down and your out of the hobby.

I just got to thank you for all that you did for the solar tube lighting. You were one of the reasons I went with tubes. A local reefer juts got an Apogee Par meter and we started to take some readings. Here is a link if you want to follow on the results. The first tests show that tubes will blow MH away with no problem. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=15239268#post15239268

Ace,
Saw your post on MAAST and am still looking for my lower jaw. Hope to see you back up and running in the next year or two. Man it hurts to type that.
