Fishy list

Fishy list

Fishy list
Here is my potential fish list:

2- true perc clowns(pair)
2- B&W false precs(pair)
1- spot jaw fish
10- threadfin cardinal fish
2- banggai cardinal fish(pair)
3- barbonius anthias
5- barttlet anthias
2- rhomboid wrasses(pair)
1- lineatus wrasse(male)
1- hawiian flame wrasse(male)
1- melanurus wrasse(male)a.k.a the worm killer!!!
3- yellow tangs
1- purple tang
1- powder blue tang

WHAT? That's only 35 fish

If I start to take fish off the list it will be the following:

b&w clowns
flame wrasse
and see what happens to all the theadfin cardinals

Its a big list but someone has to break some rules

What do you guys think. I plan of adding the more mellow fish first and go from there. I need to find a stock of the threadfins first and cross my fingers that they live. I think I would rather try the O.R.A. ones first and see how they fair.

ooooooohhhhhh get it going already!!! love your work :)

Very nice planning on this tank!!

I like this work

Thanks everyone. Getting comments like this only pushes me to make the best system possible that my two little hands can make. And I have little stubby hands.lol

Any thoughts on the fish list. Well, I sleep on the two pairs of clowns and I think I'll just stick with the onyx for now. I think I want to add a kole tang to the mix as well. I like to have some fish that will constantly peck at the rocks!!!!

I need to do an update!!!!! I got my utility sink in place, got the frag tank stand built as well as the skimmer tank stand done as well. I'll get pics. of those tonight after I get them painted. I also used foamed pvc cutouts for the back ground. It will allow me to remove the back ground and clean the back glass with a magnet!!!! I also never realized how stinking hard it was to get a silly dart to not LEAK! It took some plumbers paste and a wrench to get it to stop dripping. Thanks to all those from my local club on helping with that issue! Currently the tank has about 5" of RO/DI water in it and will take another 3 days to get it full and running!!!!!

I know a thread is WORTHLESS without pics. so I'll get them up tonight!

Bios- I will be getting the rock structures planned out tomorrow. I would love to keep the tank really open and have a super minimum amount of rock. We'll see how it goes!

Well, I know it is technically the next day but here are some pics. from today's work.

We will start with a great DISASTER:help I had to paint the bigger frag tank stand inside because it was too big to get out the sliding back door. So, I thought to myself, self, I should grab that big tarp laying out back but I think I will be ok without it. I won't make a big mess.

I luckily covered my wifes editing pc with some sheets earlier so that it didn't get covered in dust as I had to sand the stands inside as well. Then the disaster. The gallon can of white KILLZ paint slipped from my grasp to as almost in slow motion hit the floor and EXPLODED in a shower of creamy snow!!!! I was covered, the floor was covered, the walls that took an eternity to paint were covered. As a side note the can of primer said on the first line on the back that it was FAST DRYING!!! :hint listen to that small voice inside you; get the TARP. So, I ran to tell my wife to drop what she was doing because I had an accident. Do you blame her??

So, long story short. I got the thing painted and what should have taken 1 hour to finish painting ended up being a 3 hour "exxon mobile" clean up!

I will take pics. of the foamed pvc backing tomorrow night and of the net cover. I am pooped and need to get to sleep.

I have trim that will be painted red to match how I trimmed out the display stand as well. I also plan on painting the black trim of the skimmer and QT tanks red as I did on the sump!

Here is 1 days worth of H2O.

Sweet build thread! I can't believe I haven't commented on it! I've read it before and saw you are using some of the same equipment and fish stocking list.

I love the man cave also. My cave is in the room behind my tank, that's the main reason I was trying to stuff most my equipment under my tank. It would be perfect for a fish room, but it's stuffed full of electronics. I already ran out of room under the tank and have to build a hutch to house my ATO, ballasts, etc.

I saw you changed from a pair of Lineatus to a male. That was the advice I received as well. I should have another wrasse delivery Thursday and then a pair of rhomboids and I am set.

Ah I saw you switched from the Elites to the III's. I ordered the Elites due to the lack of space in my canopy.

Yeah, i have heard the females can cause unwanted stress. So, i'll just eliminate it. I am still set on the rhomboids as well. I need to find out in what order to introduce them first.

If I didn't have the room I would have went with the elites as well.

Wow, I'm tagging here as I'm going to be building a similar tank in a similar space as yours.
With a 255gal tank, that Vertex 300 should be SERIOUS overkill. I guess you have plans for frag tanks, a large sump, etc. But, whew!

That lighting rack is also a work of art. Great work altogether thus far!

First off, thanks fir the compliments. I hope you put together a sweet build thread as well. I will have around 380gals total in water. I also plan on a nice sized fish list!!! I love me some fishies!

I feel your pain dropping the paint, I had can of green paint explode on me in a similar manner once and it was a hassle! Great build, can't wait to see the tank stocked.
