My 280g Custom upgrade.....

FEDEX FRIDAY

After seeing another member have several fedex friday's (danfeig :wavehand:), I will be having my own tomorrow. I ordered a tune up cuc from reefcleaners.org and bought some sps from Divers Den on liveaquaria.com.

UPDATES

I've added some fish over the last few weeks and everyone is doing very well. Some of the highlight additions are 6 Bartlett Anthias and an Earmuff wrasse. In the beginning I wasnt a fan of wrasses but after putting a couple of them in the tank...thats all changed now.

Here are few cell phone pictures of some recent coral additions. I will get the big boy camera out over the weekend and try to take better picture.

The piece on the right I picked up as part of a brown out special. I found someone that was breaking down his tank. He had sold the rest of the corals in his tank all he was left with were pieces that had browned out out so he didnt know what they were. All I had to pay for was shipping and this one was completely brown when I received it. The base is coloring up nicely and the tips are starting to turn a light blue.

This piece was also completely brown when I got it.

Stay tuned for more pictures and updates!

Looks good Steve!

I am geared up for FedEx Friday too! Perhaps we can become poster children for FedEx! :lmao:

I think the cleanup crew was a great idea.

I was never a fan of hermit crabs, but after watching these guys munch on rocks all day long, I'm a believer. I think I just never had enough for them to seem like they were worth it.

Corals look great by the way. My phosphate seems to hover around .03 and I think everything seems happier for it. When I wasn't registering anything on a Hannah Checker the SPS started to fade, and a few receded from the base. Now that I've been feeding the fish more (and adding more fish) everything seems to be balancing out. I think that's the hardest part of the hobby...finding your tank's equilibrium.

Good luck with the new stuff, and congrats on a speedy return.

Wow, those are nice brown out corals you got:). Good luck with them , they loo pretty healthy to me..

hey mike, only the white one in the first pic and the 2nd pic were brown outs. the other brown outs have a long way to go.

Consider yourself lucky, brown is easier to recover from rather than bleached and trying to have a half cup full attitude. Glad you've kicked the phosphates! (Fins crossed according to Wayne?!) Keep it up and things are looking good Steve!

So much for Fedex Friday......according to Fedex my box from liveaquaria has been "mis-handled". there website says its at the local station but no one can seem to find the box.

They just called me to tell me that the box has been located and its on a delivery truck now! Hopefully everything will be ok.

yeah I do most of my online livestock ordering from them. I emailed them already and they've already extended the guarantee by another week on everything. the box just arrived and everything looks good so far.
