Sweet!!! great work.

By the way did you ever figure out which lighting fixtures you are going to use. Sorry if I missed the answer earlier in your thread!

Hey Steve - I like your progress. Just noticed something while I was looking @ your Dart - there is no union on the outlet on your Dart. Will that not be problem if you have to replace the Dart or bring it out for service? Looks like space is limited.

Yes I know I didn't put a union.There is a union on my 2" line plus I have unions on the 8 way so If I have to I can pull the whole thing out to service it Plus the height in the cabinet along with the 8 way is pretty limiting.I figured if the dart needs to be fixed its better to pull the entire section out and clean the 8 way at the same time.I can even vacuum out any crud If I stick my vacuum hose in the 2" entry.I also did this because if you want to service the dart the union is useless anyways.I will tell you why.With the 8 way and all the ball valves its pretty heavy.If I had to pull the dart out but leave the 8 way thats a lot of weight dragging the plumbing down.I would have to have put something underneath to support the weight.This way I can take everything out if need be.If I need to get at the drum of the 8 way all I have to do is remove 2 or 3 of the unions to get at.I can take a measurement to tell you how much space you need.If I need to I can always install a union but I don't think I need it.Yes my space is limited.LEPRECAUN I will probably get 2x 48" custom fixtures.My skimmer guy will order them for me.They will have 2x 150 watt bulbs plus 2 or 4 T5 bulbs (can't remember exact amount of bulbs).I should be ok with 150 watt bulbs the heat isn't to bad.I could have also chosen to go with 8 T5 bulbs but like this I get more light not as much heat because of the lower wattage MH and he said my tank should be fine the acrylic shouldn't crack and the tank will be fine.I will place them 3" or 4"over the tank.

aquataren seems like you cursed me.I had a small leak right on the threads of the dart exit.I will have to disconnect the cl pipes and re tighten the 8 way onto the dart.Its ok all I have to do is open the unions I may be able just to tighten the adapter but I will probably re-teflon it.Its a bit of a pain but this will let me know how easy or hard it is to do.

I gave up using teflon on those fittings. I just silicone the threads now. Works much, much better:D

yes I overtightened the dart and cracked the housing.I am repairing it with 2 part epoxy.I didn't even tighten that hard.I am very upset.I also have a c clap witch I placed around the thread so that its reinforced.I am not having a good day.The good new is its not hard to disconnect.

steve - I only mentioned it b/c I have been installing my own plumbing on my new 210 and had to account for the places I would think I need to take things apart just in case. It was not intentional - :hmm2:
<p>
On the brighter note, at least this did not happen while the tank is full.

Its ok it wasn't that hard to take out.It was a bit of a pain but the ball valves come out pretty easy and The 2" union came out easy.I used epoxy to fix the crack.I also added a layer of construction adhesive witch turns into a hard plastic.I think I should be fine.I used silicone on the threads as well.I don't want to have to take it apart again.Its not that hard a job but I can do without it.I have 1" caps as well so I can always plug the outlets.The tank is still filling up.The union ball vales are very nice to have.

so now the tank is a little more than half full.I tried my cl but I am getting to many bubbles.The water needs to be raised a few more inches so I can get a better fell as to what kind of flow there will be.From what I see its pretty cool its almost like a wave going on.I will make a video of it when there is enough water in the tank.It may take a few more hours to get to that point.

I started up my ocean motions 8 way and it doesn't work properly.I took the thing apart and it rotates.I spoke with someone at the company and Paul will give me a call tomorrow I think the drum needs to be changed its not strong enough for the dart.I thought it was something I did.I added some rock work to try and hide the fittings.

I have heard about quite a few problems with those lately. I wonder if there is a quality control issue?

You can see that the motor spins slowly.Its actually a joke when you think about it,Its a drum with a hole in it that spins around.The configuration depends on the holes in the drum and the motor spins a disk with what looks to be small magnets on it.Maybe they hold the drum by magnetic field and they spin it around.The magnets and motor might not be strong enough with the dart pump so they will have to send me a different motor I would think.Simple concept and not cheap either but it looks like I will get a good flow from this thing.
