I am not sure weather to add all the rock I have.I can make a BB section in my sump where the rock will become live again.I will wait to see.I do want to add some live rock to start up the tank.

Good progress. Looks like things are moving.

Sounds like you plan to add additional live rock to see the tank. How much?

Thanks.I will add around 30 pounds.I will have to see.I may add more.I don't want to over stuff the tank with rock.I don't know if I should change my aqua scape its not bad but maybe I can do better.

I understand the dilemma. I've seen others on the forum pre-drilling and tying or gluing their rocks together to form be a better foundation and to provide places to hang their corals. As long as the foundation is solid and there are rooms for you to place corals, it is a good start.

I have not decide how I would approach my aquascape either on my new tank. Right now I am leaning toward pre-drilling and glueing/tying rocks together to get the design I like.

I piled rocks on top of (and around) my plumbing to try and hide everything.I did think of drilling and tie wraps but I didn't want things to look unnatural. From what I had before in my 150 I like this look better.I think once the corals are added it will give a different look to the tank.Plus there are small mounds of rocks VS 3 big ones so the fish can move from one spot to another.I also didn't want to go to high up.There is allot of open space to swim.I tried my best to pile the rocks so that they don't move.I like the look so far.I want my friend to pass by and tell me what he thinks. Its hard to find perfect rock unless you try to make it yourself as I have scene others do or try and select the rocks you buy witch is hard if you buy by the box or you buy online.

Ok It turns out that I did the magnet thing wrong on the 8 way(my fault) I also took the drum out again only to find a small piece of Teflon tape was jamming the drum.Dam but I can tell you very easy to service this device.I took out 2 of my hoses and I was able to get at the unit to get a close look.I could get away with not even having to remove the two hoses but it gave me access to view what was in the drum.Paul from Ocean Motions told me what to do and It turns out I have the drum with 1 big hole so this does 2 outlet at one time.To be honest pretty good flow coming out of this thing considering its 1" and its split into 2 outlets.I also bought some omniflex fittings so I can control where I want the flow to go.I am getting small sand storm from the outlets where I used 90 degree fittings so I need to aim the flow higher.

Good to hear. I guess my description of the magnet routine was not quite good enough:lol:

It was I was just a bit confused.I did get my drill bit set it seems that the largest bit is a little to small for the 1 1/2" bulkhead but I can use a dremel to enlarge it.

I drilled the tank and the drill bit worked great.I was surprised I cut into the glass without a problem.I ordered a 1 1/2" bulkhead along with 2 strainers one for the cl and the other for the dart return line.I also got a price for my lights. Each 48" fixture will have 4x 54 watt T5 bulbs and 2x 150 watt MH bulbs (HQI) for $484.00 each. Not a bad price.I asked my guy if he can get me some pics of the lights.

Thanks Jnarowe I went with the 1 1/2" bulkhead just to please you(He He!)I also should get my omni flex fittings in a day or two.My LFS guy is sending me the bulkhead,Hanna regent and I ordered a second level sensor for my Aquatronica controller.I should actually read the instructions for the controller so I can figure out how it works but since I can't fully start my system I decided to procrastinate.Yes I am a little lazy. When I get the omni flex I will add salt to the tank. When the bulkhead comes in I will have to install the dart pump and then I guess install the controller along with my osmolator, kalk reactor and sp 3000.I will have to drive to New York to pick up the lights and skimmer when its done.I also will have to buy some live rock. The spending never ends.I have to check my funds.God knows the money is vanishing fast.My in laws are staying with me for a month while there apartment is being renovated so this will add a little more stress to my life.Yippee!!!:( :( :uzi: :hmm4:

The good thing is they don't understand English very well and they can't read it either. They do know numbers but they won't have an idea as to what this tank costs.I can tell you not only am I broke but I will end up owing Mr Visa some money this month.OUCH.I have to calm down a bit.The lights and skimmer will have to wait.

Man I hear you. I am trying my hardest to keep it under controll. I want to get all my big purchase before christmas. I have a little one due then. So I am sure next year my spending habbits will change. DAMMM...Damm I forgot about christmas. I guess I need an aqua controller 3 for christmas. ehheheh I guess it helps I have been away a lot since I started my build. I can stretch out the money a little more.

It is coming along nice. This way it will give you more time for your tank to be stable. I am holding off for a few months before I evan go with a skimmer. DIY will save you some dough. You could build your own light and hide them in a canopy and save a little money. Either way it is looking good and you are making great progress.

Thanks Eric.I just found out I will be owing visa a big chunk of money.I think I have gone overboard and I still need a few things.I find it funny how I get 40 - 60 percent discount on plumbing parts yet the plumbing cost me 3 times what it cost to build my stand.I have about 2k in my bank account yet I owe mr visa close to 4k and I still need to buy the skimmer and lights.I owe I owe so its off to try and make some money I know. Why did I want to get back into the hobby again?I am happy with the way everything is turning out.I don't think I will have any livestock in the tank until November(If I can test everything) plus I have to save up and get this debt off my head.I don't like to owe money.I will probably get the skimmer and lights in a month or so.I don't think I will have the money by then(thats for sure) so I will see what I will do.I may just add to the debt and pay it of slowly.I also don't want to go nuts and start buying live stock.More money plus I will need some more sand for my DSB and I do need some live rock to jump start my tank.As far as test kits salt and equipment the only thing I need is another UV unit(mine is not enough) that can wait.I pretty much have everything else.I need to sell my Tunze skimmer. That should fetch me some money.I don't know if I should keep it as a spare skimmer or keep it for the first 6 months and wait to get the skimmer. The only thing is I have been waiting for my skimmer to be built for 5 months now so I am anxious to get it .I am babbling sorry.I may ask my mom for an early x-mas and birthday gift( for the next ten years) wrapped into 1 gift.
