My 300 gallon acrylic tank

This coming from you!Yah right. Its not my imagination J.The frickin pump hums and its annoying. Its a vibrating hum.The one in the tank isn't that bad.You can hear it when the lights are off so its ok.The other one was to loud a hum.I switched out my lights last night(I couldn't wait)I will try and take some pics.I had 150 watt 14k(cheap bulbs)mh and I got the guiessman 14.5 k.Hahn said they are good bulbs.I had a mix of 10 k and actinic T5 bulbs.I got the guiessman blue plus and actinic bulbs.I will see what it looks like.I do realize that it takes 100 hours to burn in the MH bulbs.

Well here are some pics. The bulbs have more of a 10 k look to them(yellow)I don't know if its because they didn't burn in yet.10 k is better for growth.I did notice that corals grow faster under 10 k lights.

a pick of the fish swimming.I added 2 rocks to the tank.I may add some more.I do have to buy some small rocks to fill up the gaps around the cl inlets and outlets.

I like the pillar on the right a lot! It seems a bit on the yellow side to me, but its all about personal preference in this hobby.

Thanks finally things are working out.I do find the bulbs to be to yellow.I thought it would be more blue- white. They are 14 500 k guiessman bulbs.

Give them some time to "burn in" before making your final judgements. You might be surprised at the color in a month from now.....

new brain coral. The coral hasn't opened up as much as in the store. My old brain seems to like the new lights.

Try moving it to the bottom of your tank. Put it in the sand, and leave it there for a few days and see what happens. As you know, that's where I have mine, and they are open all the time.

I have moved them to the bottom.I had moved my other brain also.I played around with different spots.I had first put them in the middle where both fixture meet, since the light isn't as strong there. Then I moved them to the back under my acrylic brace to try to see if less light penetrates.I now moved one to the bottom and the other is in a party shaded area on the pillar(cl intake)
