The curved glass of the bowfront makes it virtually impossible to get crytal clear photos. Sorry for the distortion.

I'm still working on getting my first peice of SPS lol You know what your tank needs? clown tang lol They are so pretty :D See i'm worse than you, i would have it even more stocked by now.....slow poke :D

goodness gracious...I can't believe I just read 7 pages of this thing and no one's asked HOW MUCH!

so...How much did all this run ya? Come on dude, it's definitely something to be proud of. Awesome tank, fish, and corals.

DUDE, don't you have some school work to finish up or something... Lets just say it cost alot more then your 26g Bowfront softies and 90g SPS...

Matty,
Thank you for your kind comments and for reading the whole thread. There is a very old saying that goes like this:

"If you have to ask the price...you can't afford it"

That's the crude way to reply to your question. The nice way is to simply say thank you and move on.

The actual dollars can be easily calculated by doing some research online at Marine Depot or Fosters & Smith and calling around for estimates on glass & cabinetry.

However, I think the proper way is to get you to think in terms of the time, energy, planning, education, research, engineering, discipline and passion...not to mention my closest friends and family planning a Reef intervention.

Those are the true costs...the value of this endeavor.

Hehe, I'm honoured. :D

"Reef intervention" Hahaha my husband mentioned the same thing to me :D Now if i had your set up i think he would lock me up in the loony bin :mixed:

Looking at the picture of the baffles, you have quite a bit of flow going through the bubble trap. The water level is so high in the intake/skimmer section that the water has risen higher than the middle baffle. No doubt part of that is due to the foam inbetween Baffle 2 and Baffle 3.

However, if this is what works for you, just be sure to clean those out weekly. If you have enough black foam to trade out a set each week, that will be the simplest.

AMAZING.......... awesome setup+ awesome house = me being very jealous.

great job man that is one heck of a set up. looks great.

this is going to be a real newbie question but I'll ask anyway, it doesn't matter having the filter sock in that much water?

awesome setup and cabinetry work. Makes me want to call in sick for a few days to finish up the plumming on my 225.

Thank you for your interest and comments.

I am not sure what you mean by having the filter sock in the water. The filter sock is tied around a pvc T that allows me to divert one of the drains into the sock. The fact that it is in the water is relatively immaterial. It might be somewhat more efficient if the sock were just out of the water so that the detritus would be trapped in the sock and not have the possibility of overflowing the sock. However, I change the sock twice a week so the sock never overflows. The detritus comes out with the sock.
