My 500 + gallon system. Last 13 years to now. Build, Aquascaping & more. Lots of pics

That has to be the largest wall hammer I have ever seen. Looks fabulous.

Funny but I was sure it was a branching hammer after seeing it all opened up. I've got a couple smaller branching hammers in my tank that have essentially grown up in there and was pretty certain this was the same type. When we put it in the trash bag and large container to bring it home, I realized I was wrong. Can't wait to see how it's looking when I get home from work today. I'm still thinking about rearranging some things in my tank so I can move it to a better spot though.

I hope you have a Griffin saw if you every want to frag that baby! :D

When I was inspecting it closely last night, I noted that it would be very easy to split it into two pieces but at this point, I have no plans to split it up. It's too nice of a specimen to do that.

The new coral is looking pretty good today. Still needs more time to adjust but not bad for 24 hours. I'm still on the fence about moving it. I'll see how I feel about it this weekend.

Here are some updated pictures and a short video walk around the tank. My acrylic is kind of due for a cleaning.

Here is one more picture of the hammer that I took last night. I didn't realize that my Lawnmower Blenny was sitting in it when I was going through the pictures. I was surprised today when I was looking through them to see him in there.

Oh boy... Looks like I have more fish coming tonight.... Expecting a Scott's Fairy Wrasse, a Long Horn Cowfish, a few Firefish and 5-10 Chromis. Maybe an additional surprise or two. Photos to come later..

I figure you guys might get a kick out of this. In addition to the tank, we have several other pets. A couple dogs, a cat, a large 4.5' house trained iguana who lives on a couch in our living room and uses a litter box. We also have a California desert tortoise and a giant 80+ pound Sulcata tortoise. New fish photos to follow later tonight but in the mean time....

Here is Doc, our iguana who was on a bit of a walk about today and went upstairs.

We had an iguana and I was surprised at how smart she was. She had us well trained. She would scratch on the terrarium door (4'x4' sliding window) when she wanted out. She was potty trained on newspaper under a computer desk - easy to clean. When she wanted a bath she'd clamber upstairs and trundle off to the bathroom and climb in for us to fill it. When done she'd hop out onto a waiting towel.

Unfortunately, she was too smart for her own good. We have a cat door and by watching the cats she figured out going through it meant freedom outside. First time she did it a neighbor called to say our giant lizard was on her bedroom window screen. So we blocked the cat door with a heavy box when ever she was out. She'd sun at the window there and look outside. One day she had the idea she could wedge herself between the wall and box and push it away from the cat door. Bad move as it was well below freezing that Nov night. We didn't find her till March, desiccated up high in a tree still attached to the limb. :(

Great pet, though.

Thats a bummer about your Iguana.. I do agree that they are very smart animals. Very habitual. I had another large one that also had free roam of the house and was litter box trained. Had him for about 10 years before it passed away. This one was a Father's Day present from my wife. I was surprised as all hell that she relented as she does not like snakes or lizards. I had him house trained within a week.

Back to the fish. It looks like I also have a female Bellus Angel coming. An old adage comes to mind.... Be careful what you wish for.. My wish list is pretty well complete now. I hate this hobby! It's going to be a long evening of acclimating. Fish porn pictures to come later today. Stay tuned!
