My 500 + gallon system. Last 13 years to now. Build, Aquascaping & more. Lots of pics

looks like its splitting, I believe they deflate and they actually inflate little bubbles when they split, I had one do that before at the aquarium shop I worked at a long time ago.

This one split once before and when it did, it just split. No bubbles like this or anything close to it. I found another thread with a RBTA that was "budding" and it too looked completely different although that one was sprouted a new anemone off the stem. Time will tell I guess. It's happy, healthy and doing well so that is all that counts.

The new "replacement" Tamarin Wrasse is in the tank & looking good!

I love those tamarin wrasses. My local store had 6 in stock but they were not eating yet so I passed on them. They were all gone pretty quick after that. How are yours doing? They eat well?

I lost my first Tamarin ths last weekend. I rarely loose fish so I was really surprised. He was eating well in the tank one day and dead the next morning. I had a guarantee on it so I replaced it with this one at no cost. He was foraging on the rocks within minutes of being put in and when I fed the LRS Fish Frenzy and Mysis, he was right in the middle of feeding frenzy eating which was a good sign. Time will tell. My Leopard Wrass is doing great. Tomorrow I am getting one of the nicest 6 lines I have ever seen. It's huge and it's colors are so bright and vibrant like nothing I have ever seen. Hopefully he doesn't cause any issues with my little 6 line or my Malanurus.

Nice wrasse. I had a yellow tailed one a long time ago but was young in the reef game and didn't research the needs of the wrasse. Wish you the best of luck.

My fingers are crossed. Hopefully it does well.

Check back tomorrow evening. Wait until you see this 6 line I'm getting. I still can't believe it's a 6 line.. I've never seen one this big and fat and so virbant. By far the most beautiful one I have ever seen.

Looking forward to seeing this mini beast.

Hopefully he doesn't create an issue or become a beast. I already have a small 6 line in my tank who is a model citizen for well over a year. Adding a second one is a real gamble. My hope is that since this one is going in later and the first one is much much smaller, it won't be an issue. Time will tell but I'm having second thoughts. Worse case if he or my other one becomes really aggressive, a trap with a mirror should quickly do the trick. I've got several hours to make up my mind though.

Sadly this other Tamarin Wrasse didn't make it either. I found him dead this afternoon. No damage or signs of stress. He looked as though he just died. I think I am through with these Tamarins. My guess is a casualty of collection methods. This kills me because I am not used to loosing fish. All my other fish are doing great and I know it's not my water quality or acclimation.

In the mean time, the new 6 line and Tamini Tang are acclimating. Pictures to follow later.

The new wrasses and tang are in. The tang has been hiding for the most part. The few times he ventured out, he didn't stay out for long and one of those times, my Unicorn chased him back into the rocks. Hopefully this won't continue although it's almost time to find the Unicron a new home as he has grown to the point that I don't want him much larger.

That said, the new 6 line and my other 6 line have faced off a few times. No real agression. Just posturing which is a good thing. This new one dwarfs my original one so the small one is smart to not start anything.

Here are some pictures.

With a tank of that size one has to ask how often the two of them will actually run into one another? That is unless they both frequent the same watering hole ;)

You would be surprised. For the first couple days, the smaller 6 line was all over the big one like a coat of paint. The smaller one would kind of charge it until the big one flared up and scared it off. I'm pretty sure I have a male and female and both are getting along fine now.

That is a good looking 6 line. It kind of has a sunburst effect to it.

Fat as can be too! :D
He is a nice one.. Never seen one as vibrant as this one.

Both fish have settled in nicely. The big wrasse is constantly out and about and so is the new tang. The new tang did get roughed up for a day or two though and was relegated to hiding and frankly, I was pretty concerned. My Atlantic Blue Tang and Unicorn Tang weren't happy about it and would chase it right into the rocks. The new tang even had a big bite mark on it's side. No missing skin or anything like that. Instead it had a good scuff mark where you could clearly see the big upper and lower jaw marks. It's almost unnoticeable now and much to my happiness as well as the Tomini Tang, the chasising has subsided and everybody is getting along now. Thank god too because I was kind of worried at first and questing whether I made a mistake getting it.

He's still a bit shy when I come up but here is a couple lousy pictures of the new tang. Once he settles down more, I won't have to chase it to get a picture and when that happens, I should be able to get decent pictures of it. Until then, this will have to do.

You lied to us. You said it was big when actually it is REALLY BIG. Tank is looking really good but lost some trust issues with you. :jester::jester::jester:
