My 500G Osama Reef-2

Fragged to sell four pieces of Jedi Mind Trick Monti. Two are one inch long one for $20 second one (sold) with blue ridge for $25. Two about three inches with blue ridge are each for $75 both for $125. Pictures of mother colony and frag. Not VG pictures but best I know how to take. Coral frags are in the SAME SYSTEM as Main Tank. Using same water skimmer etc...Added picture from Internet as my picture does not reflect true color BUT mine has a lot more ridges and is a much more interesting piece.

First a picture of my tank now , Started Operation around mid Jan 2014

Info about my personal opinion regarding voids in seams :: I am a retired civil/structural engineer that was Registered in multiple States as a Professional engineer and Structural Engineer in IL only.. and I would not buy a tank that has voids in the seems( Unfortunately I ended up with one that is part of a very expensive setup/system that I hope will not fail and has not so far) ... FOR ME voids represents weakness that could possibly lead to leaks and failure. Leaks in a 500 gallon system can be disastrous and dangerous. Maybe a small one or two or three non adjacent and not interconnected voids in a long tank will NOT possibly cause failure ... but if u have numerous voids it could be a different scenario.... My humble PERSONAL opinion.

Those are some nice pieces you have for sale Osama but I think you arent allowed to sell items in a thread that is not in the for sale forum. You might want to start a new thread in the appropriate forum to sell these.

Appreciate if you would provide me with common name and scientific name of all corals I list here as I am not knowledgeable on what I have... Many Many thanks

Is this guy happy or what? I do not target feed it at all and just feed nori sheets to my mostly tang inhabitants.. Love it when it does that

Does it have a skeleton at all? It might be a Cynarina or Scolymia. Use Google, especially Google Image, to find similar looking corals. Don't expect to get down to the actual species name without fully dissecting your coral, but you should be able to get the genus name. There are also lots of books on reef aquariums with picture sections for identifying corals. Once you have something close, look up that name on the various reef-keeping sites for more info on how to keep that coral healthy.

Thanks Dave for pointing out Google Image.. Never checked it out before even though I do a lot of googling thanks

Here is a picture of plates at the bottom of my tank . The one on the right is what I called brain when it is not open (not sure name is right or wrong) .. If it is easy for you to identify for me the scientific names for those plates I would appreciate the input greatly as It seems that you are very well versed on the technicalities of our hobby and thanks

Broke and unemployed. :)

Good books for coral identification (but a bit pricey) - Corals of the World by JEN Vernon.

Thanks Dave for the book info.... I am retired aka unemployed and once this tank is done I will join in with the broke part....
Thanks for all your help

You will have to fight it out with my wife Dave.. She has learned how to do it in 46 years of marriage..

Wise move Dave.. I did that a long time ago.. She actually is extremely supportive , helps out and loves the hobby and helped dry up our wooden floors six times this year from tank overflowing onto her wood floors and we are still married and on good speaking terms.... Now for our professional installer, he maybe in the dog house when he shows up !!!
