My 520 gallon plastic box

My "Tang apartment complex" is almost complete:

The tank is a peninsula and so the side with the overflow (which is external) is blacked out. It's getting so close I can taste the acrylic dust. Also, I've changed my mind about the skimmer. I'll no longer be using the MRC MR6R and will be instead using an I-Tech Beast which is internal vs the external MRC. (And it's made locally) ;)

I also found a local reefer getting out of the hobby and so I purchased his entire livestock package to go with the few hundred pounds of live rock and few corals I already have.

Water will be returned via Reeflo Barracuda and I'll be using an MRC CR2 calcium reactor. Lighting is LumenMax Elite reflectors with Radium bulbs run by Bluewave ballasts.

You lucky to get such nice livestock. Be carefull when introducing to the new tank, they can stress and die. Good luck man.

Tank is home! Apparently Derek Jeter's tank had to get done before mine... In all seriousness, DJ's tank that just got completed was 2" thick and 1500 gallons! There was a few scraps laying around the fabricator's shop from Jeter's tank and I couldn't believe how thick 2" acrylic is. On to the stand.

Coming along nicely man. You have good taste in everything thats non football related.LOL Seriously though I can't wait to see it running.

Well the stand is done. Instead of 2x6's for the upper, we used 2x10's. I also changed my mind about the 1 vertical in the middle of the 8' length and went with 2 on both sides. We also used 2 inner 2x4's and 3 outer 2x4's on EACH corner. The other 4 verticals were doubled up 2x4's. I honestly don't think this thing is going anywhere but am looking forward to feedback. And rather than screws that might not last, we used stainless steel screws and glued everything. PITA, but made me feel better. ;)

It's just a $15 8'x4' sheet of 3/4" styrofoam from Home Depot!

Got some stuff done the last few days...got the first coat of Kilz on, and finally got my RODI hooked up and it cranks out some seriously fast 0 TDS water! I could not be happier with this unit. ;)

Once the stand has both coats of Kilz and the coat of exterior paint on it, I will be wrapping it in plywood and THEN skinning it. The plywood should take care of the 'racking', if not please chime in with ideas!!
