Well its update time. I fixed my algae scrubber and hopefully lowering the photoperiod and sanding down the knitting screen helped it get it going. I will report back in another week to see the progress. Well I tested my parameters today after feeding heavily everyday to see what happens. I have no nitrates. None, i tested a friend's water just to make sure and it had nitrate, but mine is yellow on the API kit. I know API isnt the best but for nitrate, calcium, and alkalinity, i am sure they work. Even AquamanE can vouch for that LOL. It must be a combination of my filtration routine and components. My skimmer is rated for 110 gallons, i change my filter sock the moment it gets clogged, new bag of chemipure elite every month to month and a half, and maybe my algae scrubber is working lol, it has some yellow/green slime on it. I had a small diatom bloom, brown stringy algae but no green hair algae. I'm shocked lol even after heavy feeding my corals with different foods. Mixtures of Marine Snow, Seachem Zookplankton, Reef Chili, Cyclopeeze, PE Mysis, Selcon, Garlic Extreme, and Brightwell Aquatics AminOmega. I also feed my fish a mixture of flakes. They love my mixture of Cobalt Aquatics Pro Breeder and Marine Vegi Flakes. I also give my tangs TLF green sheets of nori and New Era Marine Grazers. Im guessing my filter sock swapping out every 4-5 days helps remove food that hasn't broken down therefore no nitrates and my skimmer is a beast that removes green gunk. Thats where I am now.... I got some new frags i will post pics soon! Also I would like to add after weeks of testing, I havent had the need to dose my system much calcium and alkalinity. Possibly 1 mL of each two part every week. Maybe since its a new tank and coraline algae really hasnt taken off yet. Or possibly since I dont have much that will consume it out of my 60 gallons of water volume.....

Congrats. I does feel great when you can feed.

Thanks! I love watching videos about your products when they were on LA Fish Guys. Scrubbers seemed like a great idea for me since space was a big concern for me and its great I can use my HOG in my small 10 gallon sump.

Here's one for all you SPS lovers. I've been having success with my SPS so far, too soon to tell but I am striving for the best. Enjoy and sorry for the cell phone pics LOL

Well the better camera is here! Im glad to awake this thread with some better quality photos. Heres a teaser of things to come.

Its awesome how this pocillopora has gone from this

To this in a few months

Just to think that I almost lost this piece because of a bad temp swing my tank had. Im very happy with my setup so far.

I haven't posted in here in forever lol. well there are a lot of updates some good and some bad. Unfortunately I have lost my Naso Tang to an internal worn parasite, it appears to be that anyways. She had a pinched stomach and was pooping white stringy poop. I have started an initial treatment on my tank with PraziPro, i'll follow up with a second treatment as well. I have also removed my mean Sixline Wrasse, he killed a watchman goby I added to my tank and the red fire shrimp I've had for a long time. I guess he got mean towards almost anything else I added to the tank so he had to go. I have also added a Melanurus Wrasse to replace the Sixline. I have only one small Blue tang in my tank and I added 2 more chromis to add to my single chromis so I have a small harem lol and I added a small Mandarin which is doing quite well. Total fish population now is A Blue Tang, Pair of Occelaris Clowns, Melanurus Wrasse, 3 Chromis, a Mandarin, and 2 orange Firefish. I plan on adding one more fish, a genicanthus angel of some sort. We will see. I have added and lost some corals. I lost my red digi and my yellow highlighter acro started to recede in tissue. I don't think I will add more SPS for now. im sure issues were relatingwith alkalinity issues with the NSW I use. I guess the local NSW had lower alkalinity and my level dropped 1 dkh too fast. I have picked up a frag of WWC pink Kraks, Hawkins echinata, Sunny D palys, JF Tarantulas, Colony of Armor of Gods and Brazilian Star zoas, and probably a few I can't remember right now lol. I will take some pics and post up soon.

This is the 55 you told me about! Very nice! Will be following along to the nice pictures now haha What camera did you get?

thanks a lot! yep this is my 55 tank I mentioned. I use a Canon rebel t5i. very awesome camera and I also use a Nikon Coolpix L620. My recent photos were with the Canon t5i. thanks for the support!

Initial treatment of PraziPro is done and I performed a big 18 gallon water change, added my carbon & phosguard back into the system, and turned on UV yesterday. I will start the second treatment tonight and take out the carbon & phosguard and turn off UV again. I didn't turn the skimmer back on since it was still going crazy after the water change yesterday. All of the fish are looking good so far and eating well. No signs of pinched stomachs and no white stringy poop anymore. Lets see how things go, second treatment starts tonight.
