my anemones behavior

hi all :) ive had my bta for a little over a month.

very rarely would it ever stay in the same place during the night

never had a problem keeping her mouth nice and puckered shut

well for 4 days strait, she has stayed in the same spot *knocking on wood* front and center of the tank, half way up the rocks.

but, for about 4-6 days i havent seen her mouth completely puckered or closed

it looks like a slit most of the time, and never gaping unless pooping but ive read that open mouths are bad and im worried.
I can see kinda the inside of her 'lips' when its at its most open

and she has been keeping some tenicles over her mouth

another thing thats bothering me... and i dont know if its normal...

its like the left half of her is NEVER as healthy (?) the tenicles on the left are always small and tiny and she keeps that half kinda folded in, while the other halfs tenicles are very very large and very bubbly

uh.. Ill just take a pic.. *pic taking, uploading*

ok. what do you guys think? couldent get a mouth shot, shes covering it, but i know its a long slit....

Doesn't look like she is doing poorly. It's my understanding that the sign of a healthy BTA are the bubbles, which yours has. The left side could be deflated becuase it's pressed up against a rock. On the mouth slit thing, mine will do the same and there is nothing wrong with it. Not sure what the reasoning is.

All in all, from your picture and your post I would say yours is doing just fine! Minus possibly being a little cramped but she'll figure that out on her own. The moving around is normal. Sounds like she may have found her little spot.

Good luck!

daytymer.. it was my understanding that the bubbles have no relation to health, fish, food or anything else explainable.

I can tell you that when my maroon was hosting it, there were zero bubbles and a few hours after the fish went into QT (mouth fungus) the bubbles came back

the mouth thing, im not sure thats why i was asking. she used to keep it real closed

BTAs are odd in this regard. Overall, the animal appears to be healthy. I would continue feeding it and caring for it as usual. I wouldn't be concerned about it at this point.

amphiprion... thats so nice to hear :)

Im supposed to put my maroon back in the tank... QT time has been done for a week longer than needed, but the bta doesent like the fish.. and im sorta just waiting.. for what im not sure :D
