Last night while watching a movie, my gorlfriend says "honey whats that noise your tanks making?" So I go investigate and my return pump is turning on and off like when the power goes out. I didnt feel like dealing with it just then so I turned the pump off and put and old koralia in the tank to move water overnight. problem solved right, nope! Then as Im putting the pump in the tank I feel the temp of the water on my arm and its like a frickin hot tub!!! Looked down at the thermometer and it reads almost 90 degrees!!! OMFG!!! REALLY, W T F!!! So I throw a tray of ice cubes in slowly bring the temp down and checking things out, ,mainly worried about my mantis beeing cooked and low and behold he's fine just chillin at the mouth of his burrow. Pheeeew! I was worried there for a second. I havent diagnosed the exact cause of the massive temp change yet but I figured its either the heater with a broken thermostat (marineland stealth) or the pump seizing. Leaning more twords the heater though.

There is a recall on the Marine Stealth Pro if that's what you have. I hear Petco customers just take theirs back to the store for replacement or credit. You could probably call Marineland too.

I took mine back to Petsmart and they took it back no problems. Even wasn't a model they sold still gave me credit and I bought a new one only had to spend a couple more $

I tested the heater today and its got a bad thermostat. I had it set to 79 degrees and just kept rising .....I finally unplugged it at 82 degrees.
