My AWT test results....what changes should i make?

alk is between 10-11. Its going to take 600g of Seachem MG to raise my MG 120 ppm. So plan to dose it over the next 2 days.

Thats good to know about the MG test. I been really worried that i been messing it up! I looked around for another MG test kit but couldn't find any at the LFS I was at.

Thanks for all the help!.

Yes, the thing about mag is, once you get it where you want it, it depletes rather slowly. So once you get to your target, it wont take much to keep it there.

I have had very good luck with Kent's Tech-M magnesium supplement.

Check the calculator and see for yourself.

Is that Mg supplement liquid? Its takes a long time to dose the Seachem because I got to mix it with water first.

Well i picked up some Tech-m, but now Mg @1350 after only dosing 250g Seachem Mg, going by the cal I need almost 600g to raise it 120ppm.

Should i keep dosing Mg?

cool. well everything is getting back to normal. CA @ 420 and alk @ 10.

I only going to raise 5ppm of mg and 30ppm of ca today. Will keep an close eye on it over the next week. I still don't think my MG is at the correct level. I don't see how the cal could be that far off.

Yeah, i know but i don't see how 250g could raise it 120ppm, when the cal said it would take 600g.

Am i missing something here?

Even the best hobby mag kits have some test noise.

Mag more than most.

I would not be concerned as long as your mag is between 1250 and 1350 ppm. Mag does not have to be exactly a particular number to allow cal and alk to do its thing. :)

30 ml of Tech M won't raise a 90g tank from 1350 to 1410 ppm, but the result might include some testing noise. I'm not sure I'd worry yet.
