My AWT test results....what changes should i make?

Ok, then your levels fall within any accepted error factor be it you kit or AWT.

I think your levels look fine, my silica tests at 1.1 and I have no diatoms issues or any negative algae in the tank at all. Your potassium was high now low, that would be the salt, or a potassium additive. Have you switched brands of salt? or changed any additives you use in a while?
I always send my sample in on a monday because I dose prodibio every wed. and water change every friday, make sure you are doing it similiar cause if you dump in something or do a w/c right before sending in the sample I can see a variance.

Your alk is fine, I calculate them saying about 9 in the dkh range, thats great.

His K+ is not high it is low ! NSW is 380 ppm and his is @ 295 ppm.

Boomer Boomer Boomer, I love that name BTW ;)

ok Heres what I said:
"Your potassium was high now low"

Here is what USC fan told us about his water on 10/12:

Potassium (K)
Natural Seawater Value: 390 mg/l
Acceptable Range: 350 to 450 mg/l
Tested: 471 mg/l

Scroll back to the 1st page if you don't understand.

Then on 11/29 he said this:
Potassium (K) 295 Low

Where did my statement of his potassium was high now low, go wrong?
I am not so old but I read it correctly, what do you read differently boomer?

Regards,
C

I have always sent mine in on a monday also. The only things I have change since my first AWT test was hook up my carbon and phosban reactors and replace all my filter for my rodi. So maybe the carbon is removing the K and the other "trace elements."

I only do 5gal water changes twice a week. maybe i need to do more?

I might remove my carbon reactor to see if my levels go back up....

WOW C that must be a first you. You actually went back to another page and read something

I did not and read it as a typo, as if you were saying his latest results where high in K.

So what do you want a gold star

Here yah go

USC from what you have done your shift in K+ should not be that much at all. 100 ppm is allot to say the least. K+ is virtually unaffected by carbon. That looks like more of a testing error.

Wow Boomer you make an honest mistake and still have to be mean to me, I must really have struck a nerve with you LOL
I'm sorry i'll go stick me head in a bowl of wheaties now.

Thanks Kevin, I'll drop it and try to act accordingly :) And my apologies to all, especially UFC :D

Thanks guy!

Well i tested my CA++ this morning and now its down to 320. I don't have any clue what is going on. I dosed 40ml of kent liquid calcium and 2700ml of kalk over night.

Now going by the Reef Chemistry Calculator i now need to add 333ml more just to get it back to 400. Which is A LOT! How much is it safe to add at one time?

Is that raise CA++ 100ppm or 100ml of the solution?

My MG is also low @ 1230. Should i raise one before the other?

Also does anyone know of a better MG kit than Salifert? I think the spoon is throwing my readings off. Why in the world would salifert use 1 spoon as a measurement....

100 ppm of Ca. The spoon shouldn't be an issue. It's just used to add the coloring agent, and I don't think the amount is very critical.

UFC how is the Alk. I would raise the Mg++ before the Ca++. Low Mg++ will pull Ca++ out of the water faster.

Why in the world would salifert use 1 spoon as a measurement....

They are quite common believe it or not and even in some lab grade test kits. Try a API test kit for comparison.
