10 to 12 hours old. That is... they were released late Wednesday and the photo was taken Thursday morning. But, they were trying to break out for a few days, though.
Amazing, the picture looks like they are mature. Did you remove them from your main display or were they reared in a seperate tank?

I read that the gestation period was 18 to 21 days... so, I cought him on the 20th day and moved him to a 10 gallon tank. I used water from the main display to minimize stress.

He didn't actually release the fry until the 27th day. Most, if not all had hatched in the days prior... he just wouldn't let them out.

He started releasing them right after the lights went out. It took a couple of hours to let them all out. There were and are still 18.

Kannin,

I have some threadfins that are brooding and would love to try and raise them.

How do you catch him out of the main system without him releasing?

I set up a large net where I knew he would want to go and then slowly pushed him towards it with the smaller net. Then I put him in a large drinking glass while still under water and transported him to the smaller tank.

They spawned again... I still have all of the fry from the last spawning.

The female is definately holding the eggs...

He followed he around all day but, kept transferring the eggs to her.

15 chromis
1 chocolate mimic tang
1 convict tang
3 yellow tangs
3 dispar anthias
2 banggaii cards
1 lawn mower blenny
1 yashia hashi goby

I want to add some more anthias', a couple more gobies and some clowns. Maybe a tamarin's wrasse.

Nice selection, more anthias would be a good addition. I am definately on the lookout for a pair of banggaii after following your thread! They are so cool!

i have had a chocolate mimic for almost a year now.how long did it take for yours to change to its adult colors.mine has definately darkened around his upoer and lower fins but i didnt think it would take that long once they started.tank looks awesome

I originally bought three of them and then these two paired off... and, the male bannished the other one. It's been pretty cool but, if they keep doing it like bunnies... I'm gonna get tired.

He has pretty much... always been this color. I've had him for about 15 months, and I would say he has double in size but, stayed the same color.

I looked through every page and all i can say is wow. Your aquascaping is some of the best i have seen. Awsome work and keep it up.
