My Black and Orange False Perc Pair

Hello Everyone,

I got this pair of false percs from ORA 3 weeks ago and they are doing great. They have bonded well but havent hosted anything yet. The black is a regular false perc but the orange one I am told is a stubby variety.
They are in a 20 gal H with one diamond Goby.

Nice pic, really good looking pair of clownfish... I love odd pairs, I'd be interested in hearing if they mate up and spawn.

Yes. I got them for the same reason too. They seem to be really bonding and stay together all the time. But I am not sure if they can mate because I read that the stubby ones have a birth defect (missing vertebrae). Not sure if this makes it any difficult to make or not.

i dont know about the whole stubby thing but i have a perc and a black occ pair but no signs of eggs yet. male has been cleaning but still no eggs. heres a pic...

Very interesting pair. Thanks for sharing. My black false perc keeps nipping at the orange stubby which is half the size. I read that its pretty normal behavior.

yea i would have to say that my lil black occ got the crap kicked out of him for a while before they settled down but every now and again i notice that hes got some torn fins from my female asserting herself. IMO i would have to say that your black will most likely become the female just because its acting more dominant over the stubby.
