My Black Ocellaris pair are spawning!!!

Nice job! I like how nice and neat your electrical outlets are. Looks like you ran into a sale on Instant Ocean! lol

Question: How old are your oldest now and what are you feeding them?

Also, are you planning on running the water through a central sump?

Nice work!

Thanks I'm enjoying it so far. Sale where? <looks around> :) My oldest are now about 10 weeks. I'm feeding them crushed flakes / cyclopeeze. I'm not doing a sump just yet. I want to drill all the tanks at the same time if I do and I haven't decided I want all my eggs in one basket so to speak.. We'll see.

Great setup ! I like the idea of individual setups, a modular approach. If disease breaks out it's confined, not system wide. Growing room ! :)

Thanks for sharing everything with us.

Those shelves look great and should defintely help keep it organized!!

Your welcome Korrine. They are working out great. My clowns are laying a nest right now. They skipped a week. I expected them to lay last week. I was getting nervous they were going to stop. I'll maybe get a pic in a couple days with my big lens. I don't want to spook them again. It looks like a good sized nest again.

Everything looks great, how's the 1st batch comming? Just suffer a setback as my pair of B/W just past away 2 days ago because of brook. Only had them for like 10 days.

Bummer Vincent. You really need to research the treatment of Brook. It is treatable but moves very fast. I use formalin.

I think mine are eating the eggs again :(

Really?? I read somewhere that they do that sometimes but forgot why.

Well they ate the last hatch as well. I'm going to change up the diet a bit and see if that helps. If they start eating the next one I'm going to pull the tile and try and incubate them myself. I'm going to pickup a 15g growout tank this weekend to free up a larvae tank.

Ok after switching tanks / and a break my pair are biting back the Anemone and cleaning the rock. She seems a little chubby too. Here's my problem. Do I put the tile back in or leave them alone so as not to spook them into stopping again?

I would leave them alone this first time after the break, letting them get back into the swing of things again. My clowns like switching their nesting sites. The next time place the tile back in.

Well I was right. There was a nice batch of eggs to greet me when I got home tonight. I hope they don't eat them. Here's some pics. I can't wait to get back at it.
