My Black Ocellaris pair are spawning!!!

Up all night, late to work, leave work early, get yelled at by the wife over and over again...what dose all of the have in common---->getting sucked into this thread is the reason for all of it

Dude this is the best thread I have ever read!!!
Hopefully one of my mated pairs will spawn soon
I'm trying to get into all this so I have quite a few pairs I'm counting on, B&W, clarkiis, allardis, ocellaris, GSM, and a B&W paired with a regular ocellaris...the B&W clarkiis allardis and ocellaris have all been showing good signs that it isn't to far off so maybe you will we my thread up here in the not to distant future

Keep up the good work... When the time comes do you mind if I PM you for advise?

D_hood87: Thanks for the kind words I appreciate it. Man that's alot of pairs. Do you have any idea how much work will go into raising the fry from all those? You'll have to quit your regular job :) Good luck with them. Yes you can PM me anytime.

agsansoo: Yes he's healing quite well. I haven't determined the cause. I've ordered a X-Terminator mantis trap to try and catch the huge Gorilla crab. I don't know if it was him or not. I can't see him being able to catch a fish. Especially in the day time. / In a carpet nem. I think the tried to put the run on my Blue Tang and got the business end..

I'm having some sickness in 2 of my tanks. They are both between 30 - 90 days old. It started with what looked like a bacterial bloom. The water was cloudy. I treated both tanks with Maracyn 2 for 5 days. One of them cleared one didn't. They both have fish that continue to die. I'm loosing 5-10a few a day in each tank. They are very skinny when they die but they are eating. Yesterday I started using Formalin / Malachite green <sp?> to see if that helps. Any ideas would be appreciated. It appears to be happening to the smaller ones. The bigger guys seem to be able to fight it off. Now they could be smaller because they have been sick a while too.

Yeah Its going to be like a full time job, I guess I didn't want to put all my eggs in one basket, I really don't think they all will begin spawning at once and if they do I can just let the pairs I'm not ready to take on get in a pattern. First I plan on just raising fry from the first pair to begin spawning then slowly take on more as I feel ready.. I'm also going to see which I like to raise the best(2 or 3 pairs) and sell the other pairs so their fry can be raised and promote TR clownfish in my area..I don't know we will have to see what happens...sorry to hear about the sickness I hope it all gets cleared up. I have herd of treating with formalin herd both good and bad results I guess it's all in how much you use..I'm going to try to find the artical I read and post it. If I remember correctly they were treating because of the same type sickness

Good to hear that he is healing well and will hopefully pull through without any issues.

Don't know what to say on the sickness issue have you checked the basic water parameters out for the 2 tanks in question? are they all hooked into your growout system?

The issues with mine continue as well, maybe it's not a good time of year. lol.

Are these tanks not on your system. Assuming they are not move them to a new tank with new water (100% water change).

I may try melafix.. I'm going to finish my formalin treatment first.

I have checked everything Dazed. Its all good. Its just one of those things. I'll get through it but its a hassle.

No FB they aren't on the system. They are stand alone. I did like 90% on one of them we'll see if that helps. The problem is unless I kill whatever it is that infecting them it will just keep coming back. I need to destroy it...

If you use a clean tank with new water you will probably solve the problem. JMO.

I did use a clean tank. I also washed the sponge filter / heater. I hope it helps. I had 5 dead again yesterday but even if its solved I know some are still going to die because they are sick / weakened.

I got home tonight and the tank that has been the worst is cloudy again and there is 2 more dead some that dont look good. I have pimafix I'm dumping some of that in...

Might be worth trying some nitrofuran, it's effective on a number of bacteria and also has some antiprotozoal activity.

I think I can get Furan 2 locally. Is that ok? I did another 90-95% water change tonight to dilute whatever it is.
