My Breeding attempt - Perculas:

Maybe you better sit your momma clown down and explain to her that patients is a virtue. If she could just take one more day off from laying all would be peachy! I'm sure you'll prob have to use smaller words, clowns have a bit of a limited vocab thought  .
Seems like you have an antsy girl there dazed, most people are excited to have their clowns spawn. Yours spawn to frequently! Shucks...

Dazed, are you using Nano from Instant Algea to feed your Rots and fry or are you growing your own phyto? If so how are you growing it? There is a bunch of different recipes on the net.

Must be the vodka
I did notice that day when i feed her at lunchtime that her belly was really swollen; but she usually does not lay a nest until later in the day, but as usual she likes to throw me a curveball from time to time.

I use the rotifer diet from reed's. I used to grow my own but it is time consuming & a pia.

I did take a couple of pictures again as it does look neat & this time i got a little lucky as she did not merge the two nests to badly, I still have the new eggs at the top.

I also noticed that the male was in a frenzy almost like he was not sure which ones to try and take care of; mom did allot of helping with the two nests until lights out; it almost seemed to me though as she was annoyed with the older eggs, i had to laugh as i thought well you did this to yourself.

I agree, I thought by reading through all the pages that you decided to use Rotifer Diet. Im using the same stuff. Thanks

Dazed- I was wondering why dont you still pull the tile even on double clutches? And just sorta sacrifice the second batch of eggs in order to raise the viable ones?

So I was dealt a bad hand myself yesterday. I moved to my new place and moved the tank. Moved the tank 4 times before with no issues. For some reason this time my entire stock of SPS, all my chalices, and my RBTAs DIED. The SPS rtn'd over night, and the LPS succumbed to brown jelly today. The nems just well i dunno...

Thanks Marc- I guess I'm glad that it happened while on more of the nano scale, than say in 6 months time with my larger tank! I hope to stabalize this tank and then begin the process of aquiring frags again. I was thinking maybe people will sell me itty bitty tips of frags and such, I have plenty of time to grow things out and I may actually be able to afford replacing most my frags if they are like 1/4-1/2 inchers. Who knows.

You are exactly right; you have to make a choice on which batch to raise; I chose the lazy route and skipped having to deal with rots, etc. and just keep the ones that i have in good shape; the other reason was i am heading out of town tomorrow down to San Diego for a family trip; taking my girls to seaworld, etc. So for the first time i am leaving all of my tanks with a fish sitter; my very nervous mother in law but i think all will be just fine.

Sorry to hear about the tank crash did you move & reuse the sandbed just curious as you did mention moving the tank many times before without any issues.

Bummer. When I switched to my current tank I lost all my sps. Water params were normal but they all one by one perished.

Thanks buddy, no actually I did not reuse the SB, although every other time I did(with no issues)! I just made sure to not disturb it any more than whats unavoidable. I would just leave a tiny bit of water covering the sand. I just guess one of them must've started the process of rtn'ing and I didnt notice and placed it in the tank. I have heard that its contagious, so thats my explination because most of the pieces looked pristine.(Marc or anyone, is there any validity to the rtn'ing be contagious?). Params checked out otherwise.

Mine seemed to be a harmony of death unfortunetly, and I dont know where the brown jelly infection came from. Im guessing the "death water" set the rbta's and the clam off. Well it'll give me a chance to grow as a MAN(tears lol), a reefer, and a chance to grow some new colonies! LOL. Any ideas for beautiful corals?

Alright back to DAZED's thread, sorry!

If the corals touch each other, RTN can move from colony to colony. Brown Jelly Disease can hurt other corals and should always be siphoned out.
