After losing my wild caught Onyx clownfish from SI, I acquired a pair of C-quest clowns that have some extra white markings but without picasso bloodlines. Female:

Great color for only 5 months old. The only part i dont like is the flat face on the male, could just be the angle of the pic though

It is slightly flat but not to the point that makes me want to get rid of him. He was only 90 days old when I got him so it was hard to tell. We'll see how he develops in the next 6 months.

I like that female onyx! I wouldn't mind having a little onyx like it to pair with my picasso.

Thanks. I could not find any decent C-Quest onyx clowns locally at fish stores. These clowns came from a boutique hatchery in the midwest.
Most Onyx clowns sold locally have extreme deformities and lack the jet black coloration. One store in particular is pushing B&W Occy clowns as Onyx for $99 each. Others mislabel Photons as Onyx clowns too. Goes to show how bad our market has gotten here in SoCal.

Here's a pic of the female from today. She's only about 10 months old and her entire top is almost all black. You can also see a black dot on her pectoral fin, possibly an indication of additional black coloration to come.

The male still continues to amaze me. At just 6 months of age his top fins are black, chest is black and his tail is half way black. I am excited to see what he becomes in 6-12 months.
