My Carpet Anemone from Petco

From the pics what type of carpet anemone o you think this is?

I went to my local Petco during lunch on Friday and they had received two new carpet anemones the day before. They were $39.99 and were on sale with the Pals card for $22.99. I researched the carpet anemone before I left work and felt I would like to try my hand at keeping one. So I decided to get one and place it my QT tank. I asked the Petco employee to feed it and it took pellet food and its mouth was also closed. They wanted to net it and I said not to do that. I said it is attached to the rock, so pick up the rock and free float the anemone while slowly twist the rock back an forth to have it break loose. After about a minute or two it did. They placed a specimen container in the tank and scooped it up. Water went all over the floor trying to get the container out of the tank.... lol. Got it home, drip acclimated and placed a coffee cup in the tank for it to perch on. This morning it was deflated and mouth was open. I turned off the QT tank light and moved a LED moon light to the tank and after 4 hours it looks good but mouth is still open but not as much as earlier. From the pics what type of carpet anemone do you think this is? - Thanks!

I grabbed one too. Got it in its own tank separate from my main system. My mag gets mad soon as a haddoni enters the arena.

Mine slimed for a few days. Just keep an eye on its mouth and make sure its closed and that it doesn't deflate. And that its anchored well. Should be fine.

About once a week. Sometimes twice.

I cut them in half and sometimes give them to him whole.

It has been reported several times from very respected and trusted people here on this forum that they have had otherwise extremely healthy Haddoni anemones (in their care for multiple years), perish overnight after feeding silversides. Additionally, you should not feed foods larger than pencil-eraser sized to your nems. It is hard on them to digest large food items.

It is theorized that since silversides are not meant for human consumption, the supply chain is not as strict with keeping food quality regulations. Thus, it is possible for multiple feeze/thaw cycles to occur between the manufacturer to your freezer, thereby introducing possiblities for bacterial contamination, possibly due to potentially unsanitary conditions at the plant (not food product = not food regulated = possible pathogens).

It is best to stick with raw, food-quality seafood found at your local grocer cut into small pieces.

Wow, I did not know that. Thanks for the info! I've never had any problems, but don't wanna chance it either.

What's the best thing to feed them? Like give some good examples to buy.

I stopped feeding silversides from hearing that. Never had an issue but I don't want one.

Yeah, I'm with you.

My carpet will get them whole, but as stated above, he did seem to have a hard time digesting it later. Sometimes if he got a really big one, he would spit it out after a few days.

Ok, Haddoni looks great and now I want to move it the DT. Problem is I can't get it off the QT tank glass.

I've had luck with a silicone spatula. I carefully slid it under the corner of the nem's foot, being very careful not to damage it, then slowly pushed it under the foot applying pressure on the glass.

Here's the one I use:
