My B&W clown bites me when I put my hand in the tank. Does anyone know why he does that ?? He is really aggressive :( but he is perfect with the fishes lol.

mine do the same thing i just think its a territorial thing its on my female though and mine are percs i dont know if that has anything to do with it.

I think now I know why. He used to host my uv but I kinda moved it and I think he is mad at me :(. He didn't use to that before.

Pretty much most of them can or will do that.
When I had my maroon she was really bad, but I learned by accident that if I wore my shiny dive watch, she would hit her reflection and not me, so that became part of my routine, and eventually she got tired of it.
Maybe something like that or just good gloves will help you.

he is likely a "she"....my female whacks me every chance she gets...females are very territorial and protective of there homes (re: "her" BTA ;))

My female Maroon does, anytime close to BTA land..... Occelaris aren't to that point yet.

I punk her out with a flick, but it doesn't faze(hit) her LOL. Mated for 5 years now, she'll win every time =). If they have a nem, they will/should protect...

yep my female ocellaris does this as well. she hosts the corner of the tank and when i get around that area to clean she bites

yep, my reg ocellaris are tiny orange & white sharks. she sees me open the canopy and starts circling immediately.

My male does this as well. I think he's just checking to see if I'm food because after a few nips he gives up and swims off to do whatever clown fish do.

I think mine is a she also but I think she hates me for what I did. Even I put a stick in the tank and even a little bit of my finger is in the water she goes and bites that part. I dont know as annoying as it is I think it's cute. I'm glad he doesn't have teeth :).

it's hard to do tank maintenance with her nipping at the webbing between my thumb and finger. she aims for the soft spots and he is just a follower.

I didn't think Many people have this problem lol. I like how she runs the tank though. She is defending my other fishes also. I proly gonna put a next to my hand to kinda scare him off.

I don't think she's "mad" at you for moving anything, and she's not defending the other fish; she's just defending her territory. It might look like she's defending the other fish, but that's just because they happen to occupy the same space. ;) I used to have a pair of black ocellaris, and the female started biting me after they got a BTA. They can be feisty!

I hope so and yeah In the past 3 month that I have had my rbta she started hosting it about week ago. So I guess she is more territorial now.
