you need a good hammerdrill, with masonary bit, and do it slowly

I had no problem drilling. I used a 3/8's bit and went slow.

You just need to make sure the spot is good and strong and not move to quickly. Let the bit do the work.

I am just amazed at the rock work you have created. I am wanting to try this to make one large vertical piece. Is the egg crate the best base to use for something almost 3 feet tall?

I would add some vertical pieces of 1/2 inch pvc if I were to do it again.

Neither of the links worked but, I won't vouch for anything other than what I used. I used 20 minute cure from Bob Smith Industries. I called them before I purchased it and they told me it would be fine if cured properly. I can't say if other products are ok or not.

I dont know the epoxies but I went to my local hobby shop saturday and they had the stuff bottled by bob smith industries and just now i was lookin on the bob smith website and the 30 min cure it says is fully water proof etc. if you check thier website they have a dealer locator and you can see where the closest place is that sells it.

When making tunnels is there something like butter or vaseline that you can coat a coke bottle or can or pvc pipe to keep the foam from sticking to it? Any other tips or tricks for making caves and tunnels? ANyone tried using balloons and then popping them later?

i had planned on just using various sizes of pvc pipe w/ right-angle or dog-legs on the ends & then sculpting around them w/ rock &/or foam
