My First BTA

Christmas came early, last Friday I purchased my first BTA!

The anemone appears to be very happy, he's at the bottom of the right island and has come into the light much more today, so I took some pics (may take a while to download)

Images are quite large;

Last night he decided to go walkabout, I guess that after he came out into the open he decided to explore for a nicer place to live?

He's currently at the bottom left corner and looks fine (he trampled over my zoas but they didn't seem to mind).

So, do I leave him to find the place he likes best, or do I plonk him where I want him and spot feed in an attempt to keep him there?

Can anyone assist? Should he be left to his own devices and I don't feed until he goes where I want him, or should I place manually and feed on spot?

let him go wherever he wants you putting him somewhere wont do anything he will move to what he likes. Don't feed him for a few more days until he settles in and even then you don't have to feed him unless you like doing it.

Thanks for the comments. In the end I decided to leave him be and feed a small amount only, which he took.

I'll leave him alone for a bit and if he stays in the bottom left corner after the weekend, I will move him back to where he was and feed another little bit. Does that sound reasonable?

If they are in a bad spot then move them, otherwise its best to leave them be or you risk stressing them. And if they keep moving from a spot then they may not like something about it, and you should try something else.

Cheers, I've let him be and fed him again yesterday. It's not a bad spot as far as light/flow goes and he's found some company in my 6 sexy shrimps! So I'm not worried and being patient. He looks great.

Edna my female clown has been particularly bothered about me doing tank maintenance lately, anything which goes in the tank like my hand or algae scraper gets harassed, I was bitten twice - didn't hurt but made me jump!
