my first sps coral

just bought a green apple cap montipora at krystal clear aquatics auburn ma. i am so excited. this is my first coral in this tank. and my first ever sps coral. wish me luck. pics coming up soon

55 gallon reef tank
tek fixture 6 54 watt bulb
2 hydor koralia evolution each 1400 gph
50lb of live rock
60lbs of live sand

seen all the polyps out today. does that mean i can move my sps monti up

keep it low, thats where it likes it.

monti caps r very easy sps to keep. medium or high placement in a personal preference. if u gv it high flow, its will grow in a spherical form.

Very nice monti you can keep it anywhere you prefere in your tank.

That is the only coral i can't keep in my tank, dies always, no way around it. I keep all kinds of sps and that coral refuses to live in my tank, weird.

put it up high last night and looked at it this morning and all the polyps are out. and to me it looks like it is all ready growing to

lol... i remember thinking that too "looks like it is already growing" give it time it will grow. slow and steady wins the race!

By far one of the easier sps to keep and they grow fast. Before u know it you will be fragging it for everyone
