My fish tank

Mark, is that the larger grain aragonite from your reef, #3 I think? Does it blow around on you at all? I was thinking about adding some calcium reactor media to keep certain sections in place.

By the way, very stunning tank as always. Very inspirational.

No, this is actually a little larger and just a mixture of few different grains that I liked. It only took abou 3/4 of a 5 gallon bucket to get a good 1" sand bed. I am planning on replacing my two 6055's with another pair of 6105's so the tank has a little more flow :)

Thank you

And to document the BB process, I snapped a FTS a couple nights ago

Thats nice mark, sweet tank for sure.I went back and forth with sand/bare bottom about 6 times but for the last few years i have been BB and loving it.its barely noticeable now with the corals and Coraline growing on the bottom pane.
when i removed the sand ,my occasional cyano outbreaks went away also.So for me i think bare bottom will stay.

Thanks Dan. I will give the sand another go, as the diatoms were just another contributor to me almost pulling the plug. When I originally set up the tank, luckily I had a little foresight to place down the sheet of PVC. Having over 50 chalices and favias on the bottom of my tank, when there was no sand, they just did not have the same appeal. At least this process helped me decide excatly what pieces I enjoyed more that others ;)

Looking forward to see more pics with sand in it. The tank looks awsome as a BB so with sand it must beeven greeater :)

Thanks adddo. Once the coral respond from me adding sand back to the tank. I will definitely update. Now that the tank has been BB for about 2 months, I have pretty good idea of the look in case I need go back down that road again; hopefully not ;)

What did you think of the draw?

I always enjoy seeing pix of your stuff and those sweet FTS. I'm looking forward to seeing it with sand as well.
