my forest fire encrusting monti brown out

Calling to all owners of the forest fire encrusting monti. I need some advice on this piece. I obtained this piece about 2 months ago. It came in as a bright green base color and bright red polys. Now the color of the base is fading to white/light green and the red polys are not extending. I placed it aprox. 5 inches under 20k radium MH light. I have another superman encrusting monti is doing fine and so as other SPS in my tank. HELP!

I'd move it down some. Don't know what power your Radiums are, but sounds like too much light. I have Copps Forrest Fire monti in two spots in my tank. One is maybe 10-12", and one is about 28", both under a 400w Radium. Both are solid green with bright red polyps and both grow like crazy.

I agree on moving it down. They are pretty hearty, mines sitting 16" down and is happy after I made the mistake of not acclimating my new bulb. Color is on the way back. I have it in high flow to help with the bleaching.

place it low, digitas like lower light better

thanks everyone. I moved it down a little bit; now it is abotu 7 inches away from 150w 20k MH. Hopefully the color comes back.
