I cannot find them anywhere but i dont want to go and break down the tank in search of them and stir up everything if they are just hiding, both of them dissapeared the same day but i have kept feeding the tank hoping they are just hiding. Do they ever hide out not to be seen? the only addition to the tank since i have had them is a 1" lawnmower blenny to keep some hair algae in check... Im super bummed

Ive heard they are not cool with seahorses :S Id be worried,
I Was about to move my blenny to the seahorse tank to get rid of hair algae and didnt cause ppl adviced me that it wil harm the horses.
if you do find them, remove the blenny ASAP
I hope they are just hidding well.

It never fails to amaze me how well they can blend in... I know what they look like and where they usually are and, still sometimes, I have a hard time finding them. I also hope they are just well camoflauged.
+1 on removing the lawnmower blenny, they will often chomp at SHs since they are relatively stationary and may just have some algae growing on them!

It's one of the reasons I don't have rock in my display tanks as I want to be able to see the seahorses without having to wait for them to make their presence felt.
All my rock is in the sumps for each set up.
Even so, I can still have a hard time to find them all at any given time just with hitching available to hide in.
If you don't see them soon, or at least one, then you will have to remove enough of the tank contents just to verify you don't have a problem.
Stick some live food in there and see if they come out for the hunt.

that sucks. I am very sorry to hear.When I have had smaller seahorses or juveniles, sometimes I have used a course netting (like a laundry bag) to cover the teeth of overflow boxes. It works well, but needs to be cleaned often so it will not become clogged.

That was going to be where I would say to look. I have never had a horse die from health, it is alway a mechanical failure. I have successfully used a mesh like screen to block the baffles on the overflow box. The only downside is that it will collect algae and have to be cleaned. The upside is that your horses will live. Do you need new ones? I have 4 that are looking for a new home. Send me a PM. Do you not run a filter pad in the sump? I have found that they can live for hours in the filter pad as long as water is falling on them.
