trythechi,
i know you've been using the iwan method for some time now, do you have any new pic of your tank, corals? just wondering how your colors are coming along? do you have before and after pics that you can post so we can compare results side by side?
thanks

You know, the iwan thread kind of reminds me of the running segment in the movie "Forest Gump". You have all these people chasing after a silent hero...speak to us oh wise one!

Hi

Yes, pls see below a couple of befores and a few afters. I'v been using zeo basic 4 for about 8 weeks, and a couple of corals have shown some improved coloration over the prodi 3, but otherwise thus far I havent noticed much of a difference between the 2 systems. Let me know what you think - clearly not as good as Iwans though........

First 2 - Jan 06 arround about Iwan method start:

trythechi,
yes, i agree. i see some improvements on some of the corals but the coloration iwan gets is unreal. not to be disrespectful, but i'm still not sold that it's all the prodibio or zeovit stuff. i think we are all trying to find the right combination of light, additive, water parameters ect. everyone who is successful in sps reef keeping swear by one thing or another and everyone has a different opinion on what or why theirs is colorful. i go to tank of the months and view others successful sps tanks and some owners don't use any of the stuff mentioned here while their tanks have nice colors. i feel like the cop in the tv show "the fugitive" ( I just can't seem to find the answer but the answer is always just around the corner :) )

No disrespect taken;) No where near as good results as Iwan so far - still one lives in hope..... its part of the fun and challenge:mixed:

Check this out from my recent visit to ZEO HQ. Its given me more food for thought. There really is no substitute for direct and regular personal contact with the masters........

wow thats some nice pic you took there. what are your thoughts on the zeovit trip as far as colors and such. and is that a frag wholesaler or just a testing ground for their products?
i got a question for you. how old is your current tank that you are using the prodibio/zeovit method?
it seems to me that every successful sps tanks are old (2 or more years old) and mature. other than the obvious, I begining to think that time is the missing ingredient for the colors to really come. i have never met or seen any sps colorful tank less than a year or so old. i wonder if there is something we can't measure that causes the tank to be able to sustain colorful sps. kinda like cycling the tank before adding fish. your thoughts.

that's what i'm saying. it appears that some do just about nothing to their tanks and get good colors and others swear by some method. i'm not saying their method does'nt enhance color. but there's got to be something in common other than the obvious (ph,cal,mg,ect)
