my house reef (211 g.)

Ah, that's right - RobsReef....

I have a request for Iwan. Can we see a small video of the tank? It's almost hard to believe those photos haven't been "helped". :D

scarlet I tried those bulbs and had to have them but to me they are not as nice as actinic bulbs. way too blue even though I love radiums. makes everything look wierd. to me the blues do not stand out near as well as with actinics but the reds look pretty cool yet fake. I am now only running the 60/40 and actinic bulbs. it is wierd because europeans say blue special but I can't find the bulb in the u.s. called special. who knows I can't even figure out if ATI is still in business. one person says yes the next says no but I haven't gotten a bulb I ordered to say ati on them it's giesemann that I get now. actually the first 3 bulbs I bought were ati but not the rest but I was told the story they closed and are now giesemann . too much drama to keep up with.

i hear you on the confusion. I was going to use 3 aquablue's and one blue plus. so your recommendation would be to use 3 aquablue's and 1 actinic?

I run a 1 to 1 ratio. one actinic for every daylight. I am wondering what is up with the aqua medic bulbs at half price or less .

Here's what I've found about T5 bulbs:

ATI Blue+ = Geismann Actinic+
ATI Actinic = Geismann Pure Actinic
ATI Aquablue = Geismann Aquablue+

Although I'm not 100% sure this is accurate, it is what I seem to see as the accepted conversion from reading many threads. If it is not correct, please correct me if you are 100% certain.

I'm running a 1:1 ratio of Geismann actinic+ & Aquablue+ bulbs. The color is what I'd consider to be around that of 14K MHs.

alien this is not the result of prodibio alone. it is a result of alot of hard work and alot of other products along with prodibio. seeing alot of zeo tanks and polyp labs and others I am not sure prodibio is needed at all. I am using it of course to try it but we will see.

One thing that has been said quite a few times is the need for a low nutrient environment for SPS coloration to gain its full potential. Thing is Iwan has 47 fish in his 211 gallon aquarium:

2 Yellow Tangs
1 Sailfin Tang
20 Lyretail Anthias
11 Chromis
3 Ocellaris Clowns
2 Long-Nose Hawkfish
2 Mandarins
2 Cleaner Wrasse
1 Lawnmower Blenny
1 Yellow Clown Goby
2 Clown Goby

And 20 Lyretail Anthias that are supposed to have a high metabolism and need feeding 2-3 times a day? I'd really like to know what Iwan feeds, how much and how often. Very bewildering....

I feed my fish 2-3 times on the day. I use mysis, artemia, cyclop eeze, as a food. Sometimes I give nori algae for the doctors. By the effective nutrient reduction in the DSB, by the bacteria (Prodibio) and skimmer the feedings are not a problem for the water quality.

I have a question for Iwan as I am about to start using T5's. Sorry to derail your prodibio discussion.
You are using 1/2 aquablue and 1/2 blue plus T5 bulbs correct? When you say blue plus do you refer to these bulbs?
http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merc...oduct_Code=SL-531005&Category_Code=SunlightT5

This is correct.
we speak about the same bulbs. The "Blue plus" are labled as "Blue lamp" ind this online-shop.

Iwan, you feed cyclop-eeze in every feeding? I feed mysid, brine, baby brine, cyclop-eeze and a mixture of pellet and flake. Just worried that I'm overfeeding.....

How big is your DSB? Is it lit? If I start on Prodibio, I have a great skimmer but the DSB is the only missing part of the equation.....

Iwan,
I thought you posted recently that you're using a 2:1 ratio of Aquablue:Blue bulbs?

Can someone recommend a place that carries the Zeo Coral Vitaliser and Amino Acid products?
