Well, not that fast, it's quickly going on 2-yrs since it was setup!!
Love the Radion and don't have a single bad thing to say about it, if you can swing it then you should. Great growth and color, sleek form factor, and unparalleled programmability. Thanks so much!! ange: How much flow do you have through your reactors? I will probably upgrade my reactor pump to the Eheim Compact 600 model but only if the difference in flow will make a difference towards what I have now. At the moment I have a very slow flow through my reactors and barely no tumbling going on. Do you have a video showing how much flow you have though yours that I can compare with?

It's only a very light tumble at the surface of the media, nothing extreme. If you see it moving at all then you are in good shape. I have my 600 tapered off by about 50% on average. Do keep in mind that this changes throughout the month as the sponges/floss in the reactors gets clogged up, I add more flow to compensate for this.
I do like having the ability to overdo the flow though, every couple of days I typically put it at full blast for 20-30s to stir up the media and prevent it from "caking" in the reactors.
This is kind of what I want to. I don't think I need more flow through the media at this point but it would be nice to be able to increase it temporarily if needed. Might get a 600 version just to test.

i'm still a noob and this will be my first saltwater tank so i have a ton of questions and don't really want to clutter up your thread. feel free to PM me if you rather keep it out of your thread. onto my questions
so i'm putting together a list of what to order and i want to doit right the first time. i dont want to buy something and find out later that i should of bought something else and i just wasted money.
1. first i'm deciding on which protein skimmer to buy. initially i thought of getting the JBJ protein skimmer which is like $40, then i read everywhere that most people are running the aquamaxx hob-1 or the remora. this is like 5X more expensive. why is that and whats wrong with the jbj skimmer?
2. the kit comes with a pump, yet you bought the vortex mp-10. whats wrong with the pump that came with it? is a pump and powerhead the same thing?
3. what is a reactor? do i need it? and i think i read something in your thread about getting a reactor over the intank media basket?
4. i noticed you dont have a refugium, should i get one?
5. i'm planning to get the JBJ ATO system, any comments on this one vs. the one you have?
6. i'm also thinking of getting the reef keeper lite to monitor temperatures, ph, salinity and control lighting. thoughts?
7. i'm planning to get the jager 125w or 150w heater. is either of them sufficient? where is your heater, i dont notice any heaters in any of the pictures u posted
8. anything else i need to know or buy? i would like to place an entire order at once, dont want to miss anything and dont want to buy duplicates of the same stuff.

i've read that some people use the intank media basket and put chaeto in there and used it as a refugium. will that work? and do i still put those filtration stuff that comes with the kit in the media basket?
i guess i can order the tank, heater, media basket and everything else now and just order the skimmer and vortech next month.
if i will be replacing the stock pumps with the vortech, can i use those stock pumps for the ATO?
