Thanks Chad! Congrats on the MP10, you wont regret a penny of it. I've got mine all the way up to 100% now and am thinking about getting a 2nd one. All the big coral block a lot of flow :)

Awesome tank, I really love the ric garden, what kinds of ric are those?

Thanks!! They are just assorted colors of Florida rics. Though, if I could do it over I'd probably go with some awesome yuma's.

Great vid! Your pics are always fabulous but so much better in a video!

Thanks so much!!

Topdown video of the tank, still haven't got around to doing an updated photo-shoot, the work schedule has been crazy:

Awesome video by the way.

Are you planning to get the new Radion Pro or stick with the current fixture? I really want to upgrade from the stock LEDs but can't decide between the current Radion, the new Pro model (which we don't know all that much about yet) or AI Vega color.

Thanks!! Planning to stick with the current Radion. Though, I have actually been thinking about giving a MH fixture a try, just for kicks... :)

What do you dose your tank with ange? Or do you have a calcium reactor?

I use BRS supplements and a Bubble Magus dosing pump for Ca / Alk / Mg.

Hey ange on the subject of dosing what were your findings with the Brightwell aminos? I remember you said that you felt like you lost a little color after stopping and you started back up as an experiment of sorts.

I'm using Reef Fuel right now but I've heard good things about the Brightwell AA.

I'm using Reef Fuel right now but I've heard good things about the Brightwell AA.

I just ordered two more bottle of Brightwell AA's with my last restocking order, if that tells you anything... :) Definitely notice a difference in growth and color when using them, and highly recommend them.

One thing I am struggling with though is my Cali Tort. What used to be such a stunningly beautiful piece is now just a dark purple unattractive thing. I thought initially it was stopping the AA's that caused this, but the coral never recovered even when I started dosing AA's again. I am wondering if perhaps something is lacking with the LED's... Blasphemy, I know, but I'm almost tempted to try MH for a while and see what happens.

Actually, I'm kind of tempted to sell off ALL my corals and start over again... :)

Haha. What is it about reef keeping that we're never quite satisfied?!

I've had a really nice Cali Tort frag under my A350 for a month or so and it looks better than ever but if it goes south I'll let you know. I've heard nothing great things about the Brightwell AA. I'll have to give it a shot. I actually had some in my hands the last time I was at my favorite store but the guy there talked me into trying the Reef Fuel. Glad to hear you're having success with it.

Is this the whisper of a custom nano I'm hearing? :)

That is an awesome tank. I am about to set up a nano cube 28 and I have deffinetly gotten some great ideas. Thanks for doing the build thread.

Ange,

Just watching some of your videos and a question came to mind. Do you have a CUC? And if so, what do you have?

Thanks

LOL, no kidding huh?!?! I think it's fun to tinker and add new stuff, if the tank just sits there with no room to add anything and all you do is clean the glass and frag corals, it's just not as fun... :)

The cali tort did REALLY great for about 8-9mo in my tank, color was phenomenal as were growth and PE. Then it just fell off... In its prime:

I've thought / talked about it for years, might finally get around to doing it!! :)

Thanks for the compliments! Drop by anytime if you have questions! :)

Hey ange, long time!!! Tank looks great! Is the cali tort the one that's just behind the rics?

Thanks venom! Haven't seen you around here in a while, welcome back!! See the pics above, it's the one on the left below the crocea clam and above the sunset mille. Above the rics is a tan / blue tip turaki.

You have given this some thought, why not give us you ideas on your thinking to do.

Marty

As much as I'd love to build a custom rimless tank and oversized matching stand with a home-brewed coast-to-coast overflow, I don't know that I will get to it anytime soon :)

Ange,

Just watching some of your videos and a question came to mind. Do you have a CUC? And if so, what do you have?

Thanks

I do! Not sure on exact quantities, but here is what I estimate:
* ~15 nassarius snails of different sizes
* ~5 bumble bee snails
* ~5 cerith snails
* ~1 astrea snail
* ~5 mexican turbo snails
* 1 lone hermit crab
* ~1 emerald crab (might have died, haven't seen it in a while...)
* coral banded shrimp
* skunk cleaner shrimp

I think that's about it. I'm not sure of exact quantities because things die off or get eaten over time and I don't count em because I don't really care :) I restock on snails every once in a while when I get bored. I think the key is a BUNCH of nassarius to eat extra food and keep the sand clean, combined with a handful of astrea or turbos to keep the glass / rock clean.

Ange, I've been poking around just not doing too much lately. Built a house and moved so my tank grew a bunch of GHA (after the move) that is finally gone.

As far as redoing your tank i know what you mean, i don't have any more room so its just groing out. I'm about to set up a frag system in the basement because of "boredom". That way when i get a big (200+ gallons) i will have plenty of frags going :)

That's nice of him. The only thing I ever got free from one of my LFS is parasites. LOL

Rofl! I got a trochus snail for free from the LFS when i was buying some filter media and a bucket of salt and MAN that snail can eat some algae. I haven't seen him in the same place twice.
