There will be some binders in the pills to keep the compound in pill form.
Makes sense. Thanks for the response

I've noticed one of my fish, a blue hippo is not doing well. He was the last one in the DT that i removed that had visible signs of disease. He is lying on the ground most of the time breathing heavily and will get up once in a while just to scratch on the PVC. My whitetail tang also seems to have lost his appetite. CP that i dosed was about 3grams on a 75g tank. I got this from that source on ebay...how do i even know this stuff is doing anything? Do all fish respond to CP treatment?
The stuff I'm using is from the eBay guy also. Have you checked for ammonia? All fish respond to CP that I am aware of. Can you still see visible signs of ich? 3g of CP is the right dosage for 40mg per gallon. When my fish stopped eating it was because of ammonia
Ammonia is zero per Salifert test kit and also seachem badge
That rules out the ammonia then. Can you still see signs of ich on the fish? Is the hippo still laying on it's side often? By day 3 I would think fish should be feeling relieved or improving
I definetly see something on him and yes he's still laying on his side most of the time although when I through food in there he does eat some. When I first caught him and put him in the QT, within a day whatever was on him disappeared. He just seems to have gotten worse when I started CP
How many days has the tang been in CP?
Bristle tooth tonight started to display the same symptoms again as the first time he was sick and pulled him out. In a previous thread i mentioned that he was the first to go down and i got him out and started treating him immediately with Cypro and Septra because that is all i had in hand as medication...did this for 5 days before i got a hold of some CP (not ebay) and he perked back up. I'm thinking whatever he had went away with these meds but since i did not continue the treatment long enough he now has relapsed again. I just dosed the tank tonight with Cypro and Septra and well see what happens. Blue hippo is more or less the same and scratching up against PVC a lot and now my Salifin tang is doing the same and the salifin is actually looking quite pail. Not sure how this will turn out but these fish right now are in dire straights.
Are you mixing Cypro and Septra with the CP?
Would be best to leave display fish less for the full 12 weeks this time to make sure all ich has chance to die off.
All fish in the video looked fine.
Yes i added cypro and septra yesterday. CP is known actually to cause bacterial infections so i thought this is what was going on. Besides the white tail passing today all the other fish are fine. The main DT has only one remaining fish left...a coral beauty which i still cannot catch and this is delaying my fallow period right now:mad2:
I'm sitting here looking at my melenarus as I type this. Thanksgiving before fish go back in my DT, that's if the wrasse comes out soon
Wrasses are one of the hardest fish to catch; I feel your pain brother. :headwalls:
Might be time to start thinking about starving him out. Use a fishing hook with some bait.![]()
He has been fed twice in the last 3 wks. Anytime he sees me he hides in the back of the tank. He knows what's coming... I have been trying to scare him into my carpet anem so then I can just grab him out of there... With no luck yet of course. Worst part is my fish will have been in CP 2 wks on Thursday. When I finally do catch the wrasse I get to start over at day 1 again... It's ALWAYS the 30$ fish...:fun2: :deadhorse1:
