Here's a couple bad photos of two Spotfin Butterfly fish. They were caught off shore in Long Island during the Atlantis Marine world collecting trip.
6 weeks happy & healthy & growing
Thanks Todd & Joe.

Nice Bill, they did look good the last time I was over, but they look bigger now!

I think he is hatching brine shrimp for them Michelle, but I could be wrong.

thanks,

Rick

Hey Bill!
They look great! What are you feeding them?
At first, on the advice of Todd Gardner, I used cyclopseze, hatched brine shrimp, & Zoplan.
Then I found a frozen "Tang & Butterfly" fron Red Sea I think.
They are big enough to gobble it up.

See you at the swap
Bill

Hey Bill,
I know Todd Gardner from way back. I used to do collecting trips with him on Long Island. Last I contacted him, he told me he is working out at an aquarium at Montaque.

One of the best starter foods for my LongIsland Butterflies was always raw mussel half-shells hanging on lettuce clips. They really seemed to like picking at food that was on some kind of substrate. Can be a little 'dirty' but they love it.

We also rarely caught 4-eyes and the very rare Reef butterfly.

P.M. me how you know Todd. We go back 15 years.

BTW:Check out my old Fish Aquarium pics on my website.
The Feather Blenny, Lookdown and most of the butterflies were all from Long Island.
