Hopefully, it's b/c she's going to spawn again soon but I've never seen her this big. The pair had been spawning like clockwork a few months ago but with the move from the 90 (last Nov) and then 3 months later having a mini-crash which led to me redoing the tank (from bb to dsb), they stopped spawning. I've been watching for signs that spawning is starting up again and I've seen cleaning activity around their rbta. A couple of weeks ago I noticed the female's mouth looked a bit battered, so I think she may have laid a clutch then too. (Is that typical? Cleaning so ferociously that she causes abrasions on her mouth? She always does that.)
So, last night when I was tank-watching, I noticed that she actually seems to have stretch marks, she's so big. I wouldn't say she's bloated, but she sure looks gravid! She's eating like a pig and there's been quite a bit of pair display going on (she rushing at he while he frantically twitches and wriggles in front of she).
My camera is on the blink so I can't get a pic. I suppose I'll know in a day or two whether it's pre-spawning or something else.
