My mini collection

I've had my tank for about 9-10 months now, and have brought up a 180 as well. These little guys are growing on me more and more. ;)

Sorry about the pictures, as some of them aren't great.

These are all from edensgatecorals.com, as I'm lucky enough to be within easy driving distance.

These are some of my older ones:

I bet you cant wait until they grow up to be huge mother colonies. Cuz then you can frag them and give them to me!! j/k .........but seriously if you want to ill take them....:)
awesome zoa'a....

Thanks for the comments. They're all doing very well. The top two have been exclusively under T5's.

The second picture (pinks) actually has a host of surprises inside ;) When food come out, I see about 20-30 legs come out, but never any bodies.

Ah, so you're the one who snagged those awesome oceans blue zoas! Those are fabulous!

Some are growing away ;)

I have a new batch I need to get some pictures of. Hopefully I'll post those in the next couple of days.

Since I have my new 180 running, I've got TONS of space so will likely be picking up corals here and there for quite some time. I've been a bad boy up until this point, and finally decided to get a 5.5 gal coral QT. 36 watt of PC lights should hold over just about everything.

More goodies. I'm getting better with the camera so I might have to go back and retake the first set.

Nah, they don't get much flow from the little mini-filter. It's only a 400 as well, so it's not pumping that much.

Even if it is overkill, they need to be ready for the blast in the 180 :)

For a tiny frag tank like this (or QT zoo tank) is a filter even necessary? What if you just did some water changes every week? Looks like you can change out just a cup and everything would be good!

Holy thread from the dead!

I have a number of the filters I use on my QT tanks, so it's nothing out of the ordinary or special I purchased. There are a number of good reasons. The tank would get warm, so the flowing and splash of water would help with cooling. Many corals I received would get a hit of food at some point. The sponge is from my normal tank, so a little bio filtration occurs, etc.

Do you need it? No not really. Is it going to hurt to use it if you have it? Not a chance.
