My Nano 6025 is LOUD - Something Wrong?

I've got a Nano 6025, which out of the box was pretty quite, but could have been softer.

Now the thing has developed an internal rattling sound (coarse vibration sound). So it has gotten louder, not quiter.

Anyone experience this?

It sounds like the shaft has come loose. Open the pump and see if the shaft is loose. So far from 3 returned pumps one had a bad prop, one blade longer than the other and I am unsure if the cause was something entering the pump or not and 2 were loose shafts, they were not attached to the bottom of the well.

Well I took my Nano apart. The propellar mechanism is loose on the shaft, should it be? When I plug the Nano back in, it doesn't always start, seems stuck. If I fiddle with it, it starts back up, but rattles big time. Can I fix it or is it a flaw?

Yo,

I just got 2 6025's from marinedepot, and one of them was like perfect, but the other was rattling pretty bad. I could visually see the impellar (propellar?... whatever) bumping around on the 'bad' one and it was perfectly stationary one the 'good' one.

So, I pushed the metal looking shaft tight in to the pump, and now the 'bad' 6025 is significantly quieter (though it is still slightly louder than the 'good' one). After a week of 'break-in' I bet they'll both be silent.

Anyhow, give it a shot. It worked for my 'trouble pump', and I'm totally delighted with these things now. They rock!

Roger;

I cleaned one of my 6025s the other day, and the shaft does not fit tight in the housing at all. In fact, at first I though the steel shaft was permanently part of the propeller assembly. Eventually I got it out, and it fits extremely loosely in the pump. But, the pump is quiet and seems to be working fine. I have not yet cleaned the other one. These two were from the very first shipment that went to aquatek in Austin.
