My Nem split

My Nem split so now what? I didn't want it to split but now that it has how do i get it out, do i need to undo all my rock-work?

First take some pictures.

Just let it be. It will retreat for a bit and repair it's self and heal.

DO NOT feed it for a bit. Let it live off what is in the food column. It needs the energy to heal, instead of eating. Yeah it takes more energy to eat than it does to heal.

I can't get a good pic of it but both parts seem to be doing good. the original piece was out and fully extended yesterday but the other one moved to the back and i can't really see it that well. I only feed it about once a month. I'll let it be and see what happens. It has been hosting my clowns for about 3 weeks now could that have caused it to split? I have had the nem for about 7 months. Is splitting normal or is something wrong?

It is normal.

Some people say due to environmental changes or even just because of size. Sometimes due to better conditions. Or even just to ensure it will continue the line of survival.

My GBTAs always split after a water change and I feed them. I no longer feed the the same day after i do a water change.
