Please enlighten me why the return is coming in on the bottom, rather than on the top and is there enough space for the sand to clear the returns? I am not clear as to why, but I am assuming it is because if it shoots out on the bottom it will raise debris to the top to the overflow? Will the reef effect this type of system? What kind of benefit does it provide above doing an over the top return flow?
I just set mine up. It can be changed if this is a better choice.
Also, I have the stockman overflow built into my 75, with Mike's help, and it's a DIY and I have to say if you add a prefilter to that design, it gets a lot of junk out before it goes down and saves so much time and headache. I wash the prefilter every few days and you would not believe what comes out of that.
