yes. those look like turbo babies. congrats dude! Are you registered at the DIBS Project? You could probably get into the breeder circle.

BTW, you have some fabulous macro growth there. Don't forget to trim some out. That's the only way to actually export nutrients, is to physically remove them. :)

Well, now I need to know how long before they get larger. First time for hatching snails for me. I hate to say this, but we trimmed the refugium before those pictures were taken.....

Thats pretty neat Goodwin9. I have some baby snails too, dont look like that though. not sure what type they are. I also have this infestation of little white asymetical sea stars, and also miniature serpent stars. Do you guys have this too. This is the 1st tank I've had, where these stars have reproduced.

what kind of turbos are they?
Does Mexican sound like the right name for them?

holy carp Batman, if those are Mexicans, you are in some serious trouble. First of all, it is farely rare for them to reproduce in captivity, and they get freakin' huge. What size are the adults?

You might want to post a pic of them over on the Project DIBS forum to try and get an ID. If you can get a close up shot that would be better.

Cougarman good post. That is something that fascinates me.

Chuck that is pretty cool. Let us know whne you find out what kind of snails they are.

Added a couple of new clams today. Nice looking Derasas.

You made me stop and have to think so I went down and did a recount. As things stand today, there are 27 clams, 8 flame scallops, & 1 spiny oyster.

keep an eye on the scallops Chuck. They don't last long, even in the wild, and when they die, they will add some funk to the tank. Mor eimportanatly, if you leave them in and let the fish get a taste, they may decide to taste the clams too.

With the exception of one, they are all hiding in the rocks, or under them. They have stopped moving around in the tank so I should be able to keep an eye on them. Thanks for the heads up!!

I tried 3 different cameras and can't get any better shot of the small snails. I did look through the refugium and found 4 Mexican turbos. No Astreas. What ever they are, the cheato & calupera is full of them. I don't think eggs from the main display would have had a way to make it into the refugium without having to go through the pump.
