You are correct. Smaller ones are much less common to find these days due to cross breeding within the species in and surrounding x-mas island. The large ones are somewhat avaialble, but still an uncommon fish. Those that are 2.5"-4" and ideal for most of us "regular" reef tank owners, well they are real expensive IF you can find one. I have only seen about 5 in the Toronto area in the past 4-5 years, +/- of course. I have had one on order for over 3 years from one LFS - just one of those fish you see on a list but never receive I guess. Last time I saw one for sale in Toronto was about 2.5 years ago. Pleased to say he is in my display tank.

I've been told the same, a 2~3" is more expensive than 6"+. The one that I bought was listed as a large, and they had a show size for $30. more but I went with the large. It came from the X-Mas Isles.
