My new 600 gallon reef

We stopped by Chuck's the other day. It was simply amazing. I would have to say that it is probably the closest to the ocean as we will ever get. You can't imagine the size of the tank until you see it in person. The other tanks are also very nice. Hope to see it again some day!!!

I would go with the PLTA. RBTAs multiply like jack-rabbits!
I can't figure out what a PLTA is?

Those clowns are amazing! Do you mind telling where you got them from?
LFS ordered them for me from ORA.

Maybe a Purple LTA or an RBTA would be a good choice, contrast wise? They will look awesome in a dedicated tank with a sweet nem!
I was kind of afraid that if I placed them in one of the other tank, they would get lost. Local retailer had a great price on these 29 gallon cubes. It will be interesting to see if they like the GBTA in the tank.

When I got my clowns, they were in the suncoral cube for over six months until the angled tank was ready. Finally I got it set up, put the clowns and a new RBTA I got, and within a couple of days they were hosting in it and haven't ever strayed. Hopefully you will have the same experience.

Any nem with enough color that will give them contrast will be stunning Chuck. Fill in with some of those ricks and some zoas, maybe a monti cap and you'll have a fantstic display!!!

A 29g cube is too small for most anemones Chuck.
I'm keeping an eye on it. Right now, it has been moving around in the tank near the bottom. It's pretty small so I will see how it goes. The clowns haven't shown any interest in it yet.

I am assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that'll be tied into a much larger system. That way water quality would be less of an issue and the 29 cube would just be a safe haven for the platinum (love that moniker) clowns and nem. With a few select tank mates for decoration of course!

I have considered doing the same thing with a 26 bow, for my RBTA and o. clown pair as it competes for prized SPS locals. Did a number on my poker star and a baby blue tipped stag!

See, just my opinion of course, but every anemone I have dealt with or seen flourish in other systems, has grow and/or multiplied into serious real estate. I just can't see keeping them in tiny systems, especially when they need a lot of food.

Why not put the clowns in your ricordea tank? Are you worried they may jump?

They were in the mushroom tanks for a few days while I was setting up the cube. I should have taken a few more pictures when they were in it, interesting color contrast. I don't think that they would have jumped, but I like the idea of having them in the family room.

just finished reading all the splits over the course of several hours, all i can say is WOW. What a dedication to this hobby, you truly take it to the next lvl Chuck. my wife thought i was crazy as i commented out loud to myself on how beautiful your tangs are.

i learned a great deal about tangs reading your thread and i can say i learned of a couple new ones i had never seen before. Thank you for the documentation over the years.
