My new A.G.E. SPS dominated reef

slick set up you've got there. if you don't mind me asking, what mode do you have your vortechs on? are they sync'd? would you happen to have a pic of the back of the tank? i'm curious to see how your plumbing of your overflow looks like.

thanks and keep up the great work!

nice tank, i was just wondering what type of sand did you use?

Thanks everyone for the killer comments...I used CaribSea Seafloor Special Grade Reef Sand that comes in the 40 lb bag.

Very nice! The quality of A.G.E. is second to none, you'll be happy for a long time. The color of your corals are outstanding as well. Curious though did you have the ATI fixture on your previous tank?

Thanks...Yes I did, I started with an Aquactinics TX5, then upgraded to a 6x39W Powermodule..When Reef Geek started carrying Powermodules in stock, I bought the 10x39W, which led to me buying the AGE, since the light was too much for my old 36x24x16. I had it hanging 12 inches from the waterline.

Sick tank. My AGE 36x36x24 'should' ship this week.

Well it looks like Tom @ AGE has fallen off the planet (again). I have no replies to my emails (nor does the LFS that ordered the tank for me) and it is getting OLD. The only thing stopping me from canceling the order are the reviews of the tank quality AGE build. Service is better @ Glasscages! (I can believe I said that, but it's true).

At about the month and a half mark, my vendor couldn't get an answer from Tom for like a week and a half. It got really frustrating. To make frustrations worse, my vendor said A.G.E. wouldn't even return his phone calls.

What it turned out to be, was a huge order for some Restaurant chain that had to be out that week.

I'm not saying that is right, it isnt at all, it's BS. Seemed like A.G.E. dropped the ball on the individual, to take care of the corporations.

I had already paid in full, except for the shipping, so I was at a loss. I ordered on Jan 15th, and received the tank on the 3rd or so of April.

I can only say, that even though I was mad, that eventually communications started back up. And when i took the panels down off the crate, and saw the quality of the build, that all the bitterness melted away. Seams are so clean, the joint on the PVC bottom is rock solid. It's a beautiful tank, and I guarantee, once you receive it, you will appreciate the quality and the craftsmanship.

That's what I have been told, but it doesnt help right now. I just want the, "panels down off the crate".

Sorry to get off topic...........

Its alright, I know exactly how you feel, and from what i've heard from others, it is definitely their "MO". If you expected it to ship this week, and havent heard from them, I expect it to be another huge order that had to ship.

To make matters worse, once they started the build, it took a week to make the tank. Then another for the overflow, crating up, then getting it ready to ship. So they can build these tanks quickly, its just the company doesnt have many employees.

Very nice!

Don't you worry about your flasher wrasse jumping? I would cover the tank if it were me.

Thanks.....He has been with me for about 6 months without incident. The Lineatus, is the one I worry about...I am considering the screened top, but I've only had open top tanks, and out of 4 tanks, ive never had a carpet surfer, but I know my luck is about to change.;)

Hi,
Great tank,
The colors are great, do you think thats from the ATI fixture?
Im waiting for mine to come in.
Frank

love your tank!!! could you explain how the adjustable overflow works? did he send you different parts that you could drop in there or do you move it up and down to get different heights? is there clear glass below the adjustable teeth? are we seeing the black back of the external overflow's rear panel? if so, why don't i see your stand pipes... ? or is the entire back wall of the tank black? that first picture in the crate is what confused me...

Frank, the colors in my tank are definitely due to a few factors, but I'd say the Powermodule is definitely one of them. Ive had a Aquactinics TX5, a 6x39W Powermodule, and the 10x39W, I noticed a change in my acros colorwise when I went to the
ATI.

Tony, the adjustable overflow is basically a section of black acrylic, which slides up and down with a slot on each side. Two plastic thumbscrews lock the section of acrylic, making the waterline height adjustable. The back has vinyl applied, in the overflow, a section of a thin plastic/vinyl slips between the back of the tank, and sliding overflow. Water pressure from the overflow, pins the thin plastic up against the glass, along with the sliding acrylic for the teeth.
