I guess it is still at the store. I think the picture is a picture of the anemone still at the store. It is a nice looking Gigantea. Good luck with him.

yes the carpet is still at the store as I stated in my description had a busy weekend no time to acclimate it.

definitely not bleached has an orange foot there is Blue, pink and orange color mixed into the body
it's in a fairly big system that has been partitioned off
going into a 120 gallon (150gallons total system) mixed reef

It is bleached but not completly so. It should do fine if you are able to provide good condition for it and if it is not infected. Often Gigantea does not arrive in good condition. Make sure you have a hospital tank set up so you can treat him with antibiotic if needed. Treatment with antibiotic drasly improve survival of these delicate anemones.

In the photo it looks likes a bleached tan gig that's acclimating under multi-color LEDs -- the LEDs will reflect different colors, especially on the light colored areas (bleached). My bleached purple gig had spots of red and magenta, but has since gone away now that it's acclimated.

Definitely post photos when you bring it home! Though I've seen many gigs, I never get tired of looking at them. :-)

it has been in the store for almost a month now, looks very healthy
reason it is still there I didn't have time to acclimate it and deal with a problem if it arises

picked up the Gig today now residing in my tank
didnt take long for it to take foot hold on a rock, it's electric blue and considerably darker than the picture I posted of it in the store.
my 2 Ocellaris clowns have already hosted it and both clowns an anemone look very happy.
will post pictures later today

It will take a while to color up , purchasing a bleached gig isn't all that bad they usually recover in time.

Is the foot electric blue? or is the anemone electric blue? I am looking forward to see better picture of this anemone.

doing well! crappy cell phone pics looks awesome in person

gig is doing well
but is in a sps tank with very low nutrients
color could be better
gig is fed silversides soaked in selcon every 2-3 weeks

would low nutrients cause colors to be a bit dull?

tank is lit with 3 50w LED multichip (epistar 10000K/ actinic mix)

coral growth and color is awesome

thoughts?

150W LED SPS tank with Gig does not sound right.
If 120g tank, I would say 150W is definitely not enough light for SPS.
